My score, also with a 1070 but with a 6700k @ 4.7 Ghz. Which is the reason why my total score is a bit higher. GPU score is pretty much the same.

I am curious how AMD cards hold up.

Anand, Pcper and Pcworld played around with it. Even turning Asynch on and off, which you can do with the paid version.

I liked this graph the most from Pcper. Showing the gains with Asynch. Gains seem to be not that massive to be honest... I am a bit suprised that the 1070/1080 get more gain than the 980/970. So Nvidia did tweak something.

Quick question since we're here... I've got a metric ton of Google Chrome tabs always open.

After the Windows 10 upgrade, will the tabs still be there or will I have to go through and reopen them all?

I'd like to have DX12 and be able to run this bit of software. As much as I don't like the apparent increased tracking present in Windows 10, the benefits are there...

So, speaking of Time Spy... I watched the video on Anandtech yesterday and then last night I had a dream I was in it. XD

Nvidia uses pre-emption rather than real Async and yes it works, but only if they update the drivers each time something new comes and never to the extent of real hardware Async.

So for now it works, but when new GPU generation rolls around I have no doubt that they will continue their trend of ditching support for the previous generation.

Well the animation is really nice, I started wishing it was a game trailer. I liked the call backs to the previous tests.

    7266 gpu score.
    4943 cpu score.
    6787 overall.

I think a mobo/cpu upgrade might be on the cards.

This statement confuses me. What does an AMD card have to do with Vulkan vs DirectX 12? Both APIs have the same basic benefits (explicit control over the GPU, reduced driver over head, and and async compute). In fact, since there is less driver overhead, there should be less room for drivers to affect performance (for better or worse).

I think Vulcan right now is hyped a bit too much, because people saw the jump AMD did with it enabled in doom, but they forget that they were using something like OpenGL4.3 before, which is just horrible for GCN and limited their performance by tapping the CPU.
