Ah no worries! Just wanted to clarify for ya.

    Pre-school is generally 3-5, Elementary is 5-12, Middle-School 12-14, High-School 14-18, and then college.

You can go to college at really any age but you have to be really smart/put a lot of work in.

Our elementary teachers have been able to conceal carry for many many years.

And we still haven't had the "blood sacrifice" we were promised back in 2006.

Actually, "legal adult" understates the burden, since Texas sets the age for carry three years north of the age of majority.

If you're not a fan of guns or they make you uneasy, that's fine, but don't force other people to abandon their rights to make you feel better. Just like it's not cool to suppress free speech, stop minorities and women from voting, or jail someone without giving them a trial or reasonable bail it's not right to deny someone their constitutionally recognized, Creator granted right.

We aren't talking about passing out guns to toddlers at snack time. What this law is intended to do is allow college students who live on campus the ability to have a weapon for their personal protection without the criminal charges that accompanied that act before now. Police response doesn't work like TV and movies - they're not going to be there in under a minute and the ability to stop or deter someone who is hellbent on assaulting you in the minutes before police can arrive is critical to the outcome of the encounter. As a father, I damn sure do want my daughter to carry when she's old enough - there is plenty of crime statistics to support my fear. It's also my job to show her the right way to do it and make sure she gets the training she needs to make sure she's responsible as well as effective with it if the worst happens.

If you are someone who is opposed to guns in general I am totally fine that you have opinions that differ from mine, but the country in which we reside deems us equals and grants us both equal rights to have the liberty to live our lives as we see fit. Let's at least acknowledge those rights and work together against the people who are hurting us instead of each other (like maybe the criminals who are obviously not deterred by gun-free zone or murder conviction punishments.)

The right to bear arms as part of a well regulated militia? Is that the one you're ranting about?
There is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there always has been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that “my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge." - Isaac Asimov

I wasn't ranting, but thank you for your question. Yes, that whole second amendment thing. While there are no major militias bandying about in your neighborhood, citizens are protected under that amendment to be able to form and arm a militia in the event that one is needed.

No, the one that gives THE PEOPLE the right to keep and bear arms. Luckily our rights are not dependent on your poor understanding of sentence structure.

Not sure what the problem is. Law abiding citizens who have passed a CC course which includes training and instruction on basic gun law carrying firearms for their own safety and in accordance with their second amendment rights.

Good for you texas. Who needs domestic terrorism when you can just give emotionally unstable teachers and teens a right to bear.

Even better is the fact that law scholars who have worked their way onto the SCOTUS have ruled in favor of citizens rights to own firearms. I'll chose them over a basement dwelling mmo poster. (not you the other guy)
