OK so because of work and stuff havent really hadnt played the expansion at all until this past weekend. Obviously the first thing I did was roll up a Demon Hunter to check them out. Im not gonna give my opinion on the starting quests of the DH vs those of the DK. However there is something that bothers me. As soon as you finish your newbie DH quests you are thrust right into the campaign to destroy the Burning Legion. OK thats great and it makes perfect sense because thats what this expansion is about.
Now lets rewind 8 years ago to WotLK. You just finish an epic quest line where you are basically evil incarnate. You murder one of your closest friends and torture scarlet crusade soldiers. When the final battle is at hand you and your fellow DKs march on Light's Hope Chapel. When its all over you find out the LK has betrayed you and of course you are pissed. Something... something... Alliance between Argent Dawn and Nights of the Ebon Legion...WE ARE COMING FOR YOU ARTHAS! Now with all that animosity towards the LK and some newfound allies its time to head to Northrend to confront the LK right? Nope you get shipped off to Outlands to battle the Burning Crusade?
Im sorry Im not big on Lore but can someone tell me the connection between the Burning Legion and the Scourge? Im having a very hard time understanding why I was sent to Outlands instead of being sent to Northrend? I mean werent all of the bad guys dealt with during the TBC expansion? Why were DKs sent to Outlands with a new enemy in Northrend? Thats basically the same as if Demon Hunters were sent to Northrend after they finished their starting quests in order to fight an already defeated enemy, which has nothing to do with the current expansion.
