Can Republican NOT choose Trump as candidate in 2020?

I expect someone young to run the presidency.

I'm pretty sure she wouldn't even win the democratic nomination next time, not to mention the general election - I'm sure republicans have some actual candidates instead of the charade they put up last time.
It's still her turn to be president, though. She'll get it even if they have to Mr. House her.

She's already tainted as the person who lost to Trump. Granted by 2020, I think a basketball with a smiley face will be able tobeat him, so she's got a chance

It'll show the DNC didn't learn a damn thing.

You cannot keep the sitting President from running for a second term. Even if the Republicans would sever their ties with him.
The only way to prevent a second Trump term campaign is, untimely demise of the person, or impeachment.

Bush 2004. Obama 2012. Oh and Trump 2016.

Assuming you will win running anybody is a recipe for self disappointment.

Great, then she could lose once more to some clown. Perhaps Kim Kardashian will run for president?

If she runs again in 2020 I simply won't vote for her. Again. Hopefully the DNC isn't stupid enough to run her again though.

She is entitled to be the first female president and must fulfil her destiny.

Though, theoretically they could run their own candidate. But that would be an extremely high risk tactic, which is generally a no-go in politics.

I would vote for her (again) in a heartbeat if she did receive the nomination and was up against Trump, but I would do so only after fighting to make sure she didn't receive the nomination.

If Trump is successful in fulfilling most of his campaign promises, she will lose again.

What's those? A list of Clinton losses?

    2004 - Kerry not Clinton
    2008, not 2012, Clinton
    2016 obviously Clinton again.

By that time...they could, theoretically, put up an "Independent" candidate. Against both Trump and Clinton it could be a winning race.

Why would the democrats want to commit political suicide by doing that?

We'll be lucky if we still get to have elections after 4 years of Trump.

How many fucking times do you have to lose before you get the hint...

Thanks for not quoting the common thread that all parties assumed they could run anyone and win.

No see? It was actually brilliant to run John Kerry and Mitt Romney. Doing exactly what made you lose is a Cunning strategy.
