Which do you think is better? I'm torn. I end up liking both whenever I visit a house with either.

For people with no culture like me, which one is which?
Granite is definitely nice but I'd go with quartz due to its, slightly, easier maintenance.
Dunno whats more cliched these days, granite counters or kitchen islands.
Had granite in my old house, and it was nice, but it gets to be high maintenance. Have to seal it every few years or stuff will get into the pores and stain it. Plan to replace the counters in our current home sometime in the next couple of years (we just have laminate now) and will probably go with quartz. Cheaper and lower maintenance.
I thought granite has more character, and is significantly cheaper. Quartz almost looks like plastic with sequins.
in my county wood (or nirosta steel in professional environment) is used for making desks. stone is way to heavy, and its not good for knifes.
I use wood. It looks better than quartz and granite.
go with marble instead.
r.i.p. alleria. 1997-2017. blizzard ruined alleria forever. blizz assassinated alleria's character and appearance.
i will never forgive you for this blizzard.
Quartz for sure. In our new home we're doing dark quartz on the counter tops, and then white quartz on the island.
Wood, both of those images look cheap/tacky.
Yeah, and granite/any stone is quite awful as a countertop unless you love klink klink klink in your life. I like that sort of vinyl crap which is ever so slightly soft. Saves your knives too should you ever hit them on the countertop and it is basically indestructible, or wood. Whichever, but wood is slightly more maintenance.
Granite is for posers who never do anything but microwave stuff lol. It is NOT a nice material for the kitchen.
The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts.
We have a granite countertop, qaurtz is nice too.
quartz but NOT that quartz
