Have not experienced this myself, although I can certainly conceive of lazy people doing it, lol.
It's the same issue you'll have in those Group Finder quests, sometimes in Battlegrounds, or any aspect of the game.
Something you may have to just keep rolling with.
Incorrect. I was an AFK before, not on purpose, had a real life issue. And got loot. Why? It's a scenario event. Just like an in raid event, i.e. if you kill a world quest boss in a raid such as nighthold you don't have to participate, same applies to the invasions. You get credit for everything, and loot off the boss if you AFK.
Which sucks IMO. Not sure how it can be fixed tbh.
most of them are afk because of how overtuned dmg wise they are for classes without strong self healing - its not fun dying 2-3 times per each invasion because there is so much aoe dmg you cant heal and healers are not groupped and cant heal you
the system is bad not players.
blizzard shoudl group people up in raid groups so healers could heal
I AFK them because most of these invasion bosses seem to have raid type mechanics, and the people doing them are too stupid to realize how to deal with them. As a result I die 50 times because of an idiot tank keeping a boss positioned right next to a spire with green lightning.
So I decided fuck it and just AFK then tag the boss. Much easier and less painful.
They should make it so that the afk'ers get to complete the invasion itself, but unable to loot boss or complete WQ.
It's really the only solution to prevent what the toxic players try to do.
Make it paramount to stay alive, or if you die, get back in and tag the boss and keep tagging it lest you go without loot.
I believe they've got some sort of system like that in place, since I tagged the boss once on my priest, died, and then was stuck at the spirit healer for 20 seconds. The boss went down, and I got no loot.
If people don't wanna play, they can just not play.
I've seen this same BS excuse made for years now, and it never changes.

What a retarded way of reasoning.
Not play in this case means not playing at all if you find the content on offer to not be "engaging" enough to leech off of other players. I bet you (yes, you personally) would be the first one to make a bitch thread about leechers if you got into a group where everyone shared your shitty, lazy, entitled attitude.
This is disgusting attitude, not only others do job for them, but also whole process is slower in result. But we can't really do anything about it. If game would kick you from group for inactivity, this, ekhm, "players" would just run cirles around normal people. And there also are people that have some emergency or sth and do this with guild - anti afk mechanism would be just frustrating there.
And I find it amusing that most people here that admit to afking in game are most notorious whiners that sits here 24/7 and spam forum all the time. You are really pieces of shit and you know it.
Overall, thankfully most people are active, afkers are not really a big problem in invasions or world quests (no flying actually help with that, they can't just afk in random place in the air).
No, you don't get loot. I died in the giant shadow fiend arena and had 30s resurrection and was not able to reach the boss in time. You get no loot from the boss, but the scenario is complete and the WQ with it, unrepeatable. This should be fixed, not afkers who don't really affect me.
Then don't fucking do them. Seriously, people who do optional content then complain about it annoy the fuck out of me. It's OPTIONAL. Unless you need the chance at an 880 piece the only reason to do them is the Veiled Argunite and they don't offer all that much of that. You don't need the waystones which are going away anyway. So if you don't like them, don't do them.

of course one of the biggest whiners on this forum does this. Of course...
