What mods to Resto Druids Use now days.

    Hi,

I've finally got full expix resto offspec and might decide since I haven't healed since Level 70. I used to be pretty decent usually top 2 healing when overhealing is taken off. It's all different now days and I'd like to test.

I used to and still have Grid and Clique, but clique is throwing up wow errors for me in arenas and am looking for a good replacement. Clique allows you to keybind an offensive or helpful skill to a mouse button with various key combinations. Its still working for me, but want to find something that doesn't error ^^.

So key questions for me are.
    1) Is there something out there that replaced Clique?
    2) What combos of healing mods do you use. I'm not interested in auto healing mods.

    Thanks in advance!

I use Rewatch (available at Curse) and it serves me very well for 5 & 10 man.
for 25 man default settings make a little mess, but you can solve it with manual adding your healing targets.

I use Healbot which I love and is very much like clilque. I have pretty much all healing spells and Decurse/abolish posion bound to mouse buttons (plus alt, ctrl and shift modifiers). The interface is decent, and can be very nice if you take the time to really dial it in. Plus you can choose to not show any pets, a certain group or a certain class depending on what you are doing, what your raid assignment is or if you are in BGs. Works out very well to use in conjunction with XPerls unitframes.

Used to use X-perl, so many errors lately however.

Went back to Grid, Grid+HoT addon, and Grid Side Icons (Not sure of official names)

basically, lets you set up grid so you can

    A) See all your HoTs (and what kind of HoTs you have on people
    B) See other druid HoT's on people
    C) Incoming Heals on people
    D) All the other things that make grid grid

XPerl still hasn't fix'ed the much needed functionality that lets me see OTHER druid's hots on my UI, and that unacceptable to me.

Boss mod and thats all I use

Xperl only? How do you manage to monitor the duration of your lifeblooms effectively? I know Xperl has a "HoT timer"-type function, but unless it's configurable it does not specifically monitor Lifebloom durations but instead monitors the first HoT that is cast (making it useless IMO if, for example, RJ or RG are cast before LB).

I tried using Xperl for a short while, especially right after 3.0, when Grid wasn't working properly and it was nearly impossible to monitor the duration of LB with it, but IMO Xperl is not optimal for druid healing.

Xperl is great to customise the raid / party so you can select individuals. I use a hot timer similair to hot candy that helps..

There is one that looks like the necrosis timer also.

Xperl works great in conjunction with other mods that time your hots; If you feel the need to do so. Quartz or hot candy would be the two mods I would suggest.

Xperl is also great as you can see curses and posions; easy to dispell and great to get tanks with fast.

For focus, target & targetstarget i use X-perl, for raidhealing - Grid.
    Don't need any more

(xperl raidframes aint that great imo, they aint designed for healing (atleast wasnt when i was using them))

I can Highly recommend Grid + Addons. As a Druid i like to keep track of all my Hot's and this baby does it all. It takes around 15 mins to set up but once you have, you will be glad you did.

If Clique is giving you problems, it's possible that the one you have is messed up (perhaps it was improperly installed or updated). My suggestion would be to completely removed the addon and then reinstall it from a reliable source. It that doesn't fix the problem, then you may be right to try to find a replacement.

(Since I don't do arenas, I couldn't tell you whether mine works properly in them. The problem may very well be Clique, but I suspect it may more likely be a problem with the Clique you have downloaded or it's conflicting with one of your other addons.)

    Good luck.

P.S. I also use Grid and Clique, and with great success.

How can I make example my “shift + mouse left” remove curse and “shift+ mouse right” remove poisen when using on Grid?

I use Grid for raidhealing, and have set the most important debuffs at highest priority, along with showing Wild Growth (which automatically shows duration nowadays). Other than that I use Pitbull for unit frames, since it's the most customizable mod out there, and not prone to errors, like XPerl. For HoTs I use ClassTimers, ignoring Wild Growth, for tracking Lifebloom, Rejuv, Regrowth and Abolish Poison.

These three mods in tandem provide an incredibly powerful UI that is highly efficient and clean.

To do a keybind like that you will need Clique (or similar addon, if one exists). The last time I checked, Clique isn't available at Curse.com so if you want to get it you'll probably need to do a google search for it.

In order to access Clique once it's installed, open up your spell book. The very last tab you'll see will be the Clique interface. Clicking that tab will open a page that shows all your current keybindings (or will be blank if you have no keybindings set). To set a keybinding, open up any other page in your spell book with the Clique interface open and then simply click any spell of your choice while holding down any keys you want to set the keybinding with.

For example, if you want to set Remove Curse to a <Shift> + <Mouse Left>, open up your restoration tab while Clique is also open, locate the spell Remove Curse, then hold down your shift key and left click Remove Curse. With this keybinding set, if you mouseover any player's unit frame (using Grid, Blizzard's standard frames, or any other unit frame addon), hold <Shift> and left click on that frame, you will attempt to cast Remove Curse on that player.

You need a second add-on like Clique or Healbot (untested yet) which allows you to click grid with any combination of assigned key+mouse clicks to cast spells.

Re: What mods to Resto Druids Use now days.

I used to use Grid Only, and then key press my numbers. But this doesn't really work on fights where I had to move which is why I used Clique. Its hard download Clique because no one is keeping it updated.

My Guildies are using Grid+ Clique + GridLifebloomStatus (or something like that). I think I'm going to try healbot. I need to look at the resto4life website too.

    Great Feedback guys. Cheers!
