Yeah, do some 1px borders and something like a 2px gap between each box. That'd make it alot less cluttered imo :P
Looks good though!
I believe he uses the Imagine font.
That is not dead which can eternal lie.
And with strange aeons even death may die.
I got bored.

<- THIS IS HOW IT LOOKS
<- This is just placement. I deleted an aura i shouldnt have and now it looks even more weird.
Original image:
The bar textures are 'Kui status bar' from the KuiNameplates addon. The white line is 'Smooth v2' from I have no idea where.
I know it's not the greatest, but It seemed like something fun to make.

Calmed down now. So...I need to make the art for the panels, make that art usable by KG Panels, find a Unit Frame mod that would work properly within that art, angled health bars and separate health, mana & class resources all working out of one frame, or maybe multiple with Weak Auras somehow? How would I do a curved bar, I wonder...
I wish this were easier to do in-game. Like, I wish I had some way to make panels through KG Panels into whatever shape I want. I wonder if you can do something like that in Weak Auras, with lines and squares and other shapes. Take a rhombus, stretch it out, put a circle on one end, stick a portrait on the circle, have a health bar fit within the rhombus. It sounds so easy on paper...I have zero experience with Photoshop, and all four of the tutorials I've looked at have used Photoshop or Gimp to apply transparencies or export as TGAs (which is the only thing I can do, I don't know any of the tools.)
Is what I'm trying to do, create shapes and put different bars on top of or through transparent sections in textures, is half of that possible in-game with Weak Auras? Do I have to learn how to develop an oUF layout, or how to use Photoshop to get where I want to go with this idea? Also, Stuf Raid Frames suck to configure. What do you guys recommend?
I suppose I should have asked this right away, but these sort of questions I'm asking, and things like talking about the fantasy unit frame idea; Is this the right place for that, or should I start a new thread to be clueless in?

Kinda sorta what you asked for. Might take a lot of tweeking though.
1) Yes - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wmga34zWbo8
2) Photoshop definitely, or an equivalent image editor. Learn how to use that magic wand tool. It will be your best friend.
3)It sucks to config because it has a lot of customization options suitable for this kind of thing. Raidframes, not so much. Probably go with grid for raids.
Oh wow. WOW. That, THAT is the kind of thing I'm thinking of. And all done through Weak Auras! That's the kind of stuff I need to try and do.
Any specific tutorials you would recommend or should I just Youtube it? I realize it'll take some time to learn properly. Thanks for the replies!

All of his videos are amazing and he frequents this section a lot as well.

There's the how-to make textures.
From my own learning experience, the best advice I can give is to just play around with stuff. If i didn't know what a button/tool did, I'd google it and mess with it myself. You won't really need super advanced techniques to do most of the stuff. Probably helps though, I'm still an amateur myself. Off the top of my head, the basic skills you will need to know is erasing, isolating areas (magic wand), resizing/moving stuff, and how to add layers. Its quick and easy to pick up once you get started.
Hello guys.I got a problem with my masque.
so problem is - even if i change scaling on dominus i cant get perfect 1 pix (its 1 pix skin but with others skins same bad) so. i cant understand wtf . because before prepatch going life, my skins works very well.
Help me guys if u can please.
sorry for shitty English.
A bit dry, but I'm learning a lot of cool things past the first handful of super basic tutorials. Thanks!
I'll keep those in mind. I think part of why I was getting annoyed was because I'm aiming way too far way too early. How am I going to replicate an RPG UI when I can't even make a texture? I just assumed it would be easy since I was on a roll with remembering how to use the basics of KG Panels, but nothing's ever as simple as it seems. Now that I know how flexible Weak Auras is too, I feel like there's great potential for me to make something [i]really[/i[ cool without having to sift through .lua docs that I can't properly read.
Also, your WeakAura stuff is amazing. Those Deathknight runes in your V3 montage...omg. So awesome! I didn't realize the video you linked me to was yours until I was watching a bunch in a row and recognized your challenge mode Megaman video from your sig.

Is that part of the minimap mod that put your menu bar next to the map Devorjak? If so what's the mod called, either way actually.
