I like how Occulus is being compared to "the fat chick".

No blizzard, I'm not running it anymore. I need emblems of frost, but I would rather wait another 15 minutes than run that instance again.

When the system was first implemented I got Occulus 4 out of 5 days with the 5th being lolstratlore. The last time I have ever done or tried to do occulus here's what happened.....

We clear to the last boss very slowly I think pulling every drake on the board. The 24 hour heroic reset comes up and we all click to keep going and stay in. The red and green drakes have no idea what to do and we wipe on the last boss. We come back in and the entire instance is reset. Everyone leaves and says fuck that.

Since then I have left 3-5 more occulus random dailies. I'm just unlucky to keep getting it but I'm not going to subject myself to it anymore.

The only thing that would get me to do it is if every boss dropped frost emblems and the bag at the end had two frost. A primordial saronite at the end would be good too yeah?

I urge everyone else to do the same. Obviously blizzard is keeping tabs on us and trying to bribe us into doing their old stupid content. FIGHT THE POWER!

If you really don't want to run Oculus, fine. Don't do it. The mount most likely won't drop either(see Skadi).

I feel the same about Violet Hold on my Protection Paladin, but that's mainly because I can't keep Divine Plea up constantly and that means low, low mana(just like good ol' Black Morass!). The only thing I dislike about Oculus is the first trash, with all those darn whelps.

I personally love Oculus.

It's a beautiful dungeon with a very nice layout.

Unlike most dungeons, the entire thing isn't absolutely linear. Yes, there is an order that things may be done in, but you have some small freedom in the order to take mobs.

Thinking on it, I guess it is linear like the others, but at least it's not just one long hallway with stairs and turns.

My only issue with Oculus is everyone leaving soon as the instance shows up. It's quick and easy.

However, I auto-bail on CoS when it shows up. It's easy like the rest, but it's not quick. It's absurdly long. The Arthas shit is absolutely retarded. Whoever designed that should be fired from Blizzard so they are never able to fuck up an instance that badly ever again. Then you get the first two bosses with their waves. Joy, get to run endlessly over and over. And in between waves 5 and 6 you have like a minute break for some bizarre reason. No one EVER needs that break. It's idiotic. Then you get the third boss + trash which has such intermittent spawns that Divine Plea always falls, I run oom immediately, and it's horrible. The zombie hallway is alright though, that part is kinda cool. The whole instance should be like that.

And it's ironic, when I heard about CoS I got extremely excited because of how Stratholme is probably the best 5 man they've ever made. Didn't even remotely live up to the original.

I completly agree with this. I like Oculus, but I HATE CoS, and I get it all the time.

Who cares if you don't like the vehicle system or not? Which heroic is actually fun these days? I've done them all many times. I really hope in Cataclysm there is no heroic daily. They are all boring. None are fun. Oculus takes 13 minutes, hence it is one of the best simply because it's so short.

Back when Stratholme was current content, all instances were epic in length. This was standard. Stratholme wasn't the longest. And Stratholme was constant action. You didn't sit there for 6 minutes or so watching some lollore bullshit that everyone hates. You were fighting for your life the whole time in an absolutely epic instance loaded with challenge.

Also, Baron runs weren't much longer than your current AOE and nuke 'em craze.

And finally, CoS is the longest current heroic by a factor of 2. It takes about 30 minutes whereas the rest takes 15 or under. And there is no greater reward for running it.

its hard for some people becuz if they r bad at playing a class they r supposed to have had since lvl 1, how r they suppose to learn something new in 1-25 minutes?

(same reason alot of dks blow, only 25 lvls to learn it. in addition to the fact that from 55-79 they r far more powerful than other classes, requiring less attention to abilities and required skill to lvl... but thats a different subject)

personally i have had it a few times. its not nearly that bad. i have tanked, healed and of course the easiest, dps'd, with the drakes. healing is by far the hardest (not hard btw, harder than reg healing since u have to manage a dot, debuff and party members health with a spell u r not used to)
i am a healer/tank (shaman/dk) for heriocs and of course no dps will ever volunteer to do anything that requires reactive, non-rotational play. being stuck with the same drake gets annoying.

i always say wtf when i get it, but i have come to prefer it as 20 minute clear is very easy, if its done right

also yes they r bribing u, i just wish they would have started it right away so i could have got those badges from my 5 or so runs of it
