Consecration- Holy pally use

An excellent addition to a holy pally's repitoire would be enabling the consecration to heal over time any friendly player that is standing inside its range. Something like a localized HoT. What is everyone else's thoughts on the subject?

The only way they could really do that is if it damaged any enemy standing in it while healing any ally standing in it which would make it too op. It would basically be like a combining a druid's tranquility and hurricane but making it instant cast.

The healing of consecration woudnt be as large as tranquility. and it could be a good spell. but they already put healing hands in the game.. so it's useless now. but it would have been a good spell

Instant cast and a dot and hot in the floor, it's no OP in PVP, that's like saying that death & decay is op, but with a little healing

For holy paladin consecration is a questing ability. You'll just use it to farm loads of mobs.
In raids it has no useful utility and in pvp too, it does very little damage (like 200 per tick for 8 secs) and it's not useful because enemy players can easily get outside of radius of damage, it's never really worth because it's very expensive, and very very situational for holy paladin.

A healing effect on consecration in the other side it's the Healing Hands, new spell we'll have for cataclysm for raid healing.

8 seconds base 10 seconds glyphed not to mention it would do alot less damage than a druids hurricane and a lot less healing than tranq and have alot less range.
anyways this is only the 119th time ive seen this idea on this forum and it would be better for ret or prot since the holy palla would have to run to the group needing healing and drop consecration or people would need to stack up on the pala to benefit from it while a retri palla would be at the mele group using it all the time and a prot would be using it to heal himself all the time.
