Server First level 85 mage.

Hey guys i have 3 80's im a pretty average leveler, priest/mage/death knight and i was wondering how much of a chance i have of getting realm first 85, bare in mind i aint a quick leveler i go on wow when i want/can be bothered, but when cataclysm, is release im going to level my frost mage to 85 by playing a fair bit for a week, i was wondering what chance i have at realm first? or any tips on how to?

so people racing to 85 will be hard core playing? eugh i wanted a chance to sleep :P but is doing 25 quests and handing in once i turn xpac on to get experience? or would this be small amount

Don't know what the obsession with rushing to max level is. It would ruin the experience for me

A friend or two for group quests/mob tagging. Believe me, it'll help a lot.

tbh i'd say unless you got into the beta and know the questlines you may have issues getting a realm first.

people play continuously to get these achievements, the guy on my server who got server first level 80 actually had 2 people playing his accounts so no downtime for sleeping as they took turns and played in shifts. you've gotta be seriously dedicated to realm firsts if you want to stand a chance, otherwise you may as well just enjoy the levelling experience, instead of overdosing on energy drinks and snack foods.

to summarise: if you've not got beta and aren't willing to play 48+ hours straight, it'll be a hard graft to get it, but if no one else on your server is competing you may well stand a good chance

Exept that my 3k crit blizzard suddenly turned to critting 700's in cata beta. AoE is nerfed to shit, you ain't farming anything with it.

Indeed you have to be quite hardcore to be able to get realm first. A good thing to do is to get a friend to help you play, so when one of you sleeps, the other one plays. Unless you are very effective while sleepy, it's a really good thing to do. If you're playing on a small pop server and there isn't that many hardcore people on it, I doubt they will try very hard to get realm first. So if that's the case, you can probably take a bit more time. Could be quite good to get your hands on beta, so you know the first quests.

Also, playing for 2 days straight, drinking nothing but energy drinks and crapping in a bucket are a serious risk to your health, it's not worth it to be honest.

Heirlooms doesn't grant XP bonuses at level 80-85.
AoE is nerfed, while mobs have had their health increased to around 35-45k.

People devise strats to speed level on beta and then dont log off for like 50 hrs, you would have to form a strategy to do it. and now that you pretty much cant skip ahead to a zone its going to be harder.

you would get some exp, probably not a lot since 80-85 will likely be >> 70-80 exp

heirlooms won't give an exp bonus at 80+

doing this for two days is probably about as bad as smoking like two cigarettes, it'll probably have a minimal if any effect on your health
