Is Being Realm First Even Worth It?

Is it worth missing school and/or work days?
Cramming red bull and hot pockets into your system while smelling like complete ass hole.

Is there going to be a title this time? Perhaps some sort of nice mount.

Because I don't think rushing through the game with the help of 5-10 others working on shifts is worth an achievement.

    Just keeping it real.

I mean you rush through game skipping tons of lore, and fun instances. Just so you can get an achievement. No bueno.

No, you get an acheivment. That's all. No titles, no mounts nothing. It's a waste of time. You have to wait for 4 more guy's to ding 85 anyway to do anything =/

I couldn't be any less concerned with Realm First 85 than I already am.

It merely shows that you really have nothing better to do with your life. I consider it to be something you DO NOT want to have, rather than something I would go for...,

I know i'm not going to get it 1-85, no point in trying. After a few days you'll regret.

I guess it depends on your perspective. For me, it wouldn't be worth it. I love to level and won't be in a mad rush to get to 85 (I may even level an alt for a day or two until the 80+ areas thin out a little). However, that doesn't mean I don't understand why someone might want to sprint to 85 to get the achievement, It's just not for me.

What do these people do after getting realm first? They crash for 2-3 days wake up and everyone is 85. "Hey guys i was realm first!" Some dude with fake achievement posts in trade "no im realm first see" lol. Its just silly. The incentive sucks.

A title or mount would be cool.

Simple logic, proper common sense tells me and should tell most other people that, No, it's not worth it.

I really can not believe that Blizz would put an achievement in for people to rush for, skip school or work for.. It is more likely to be a pleasant and fun surprise, even after having taken your time about leveling.. A little extra creme on top..
Sometimes I will log out in Roleplaying gear, so if my stats in the image below, seem ridicoulously low, then that's probably the reason.

Some people perceive a realm first as a mark of pride, thinking other player will look at them and think, "that guy is so awesome." The reality is most people take the view of, "what a no life loser."

Go for it if you want, but don't expect most people to be impressed.

an achie to prove you have no life at all?
    worth it? nah not rly....

Its mearly for the achievement (which will get spammed to the entire realm btw when you get it). You then get to have the occasional bit of fun linking it to people who will be jealous. It's one of the achievements that mature with age and will still impress people at the end of Cata, unlike most of the achieves which will be acheived by nearly everyone.

If you need a mount or a title to go with it, then don't bother and let someone else have it who'll appreciate it.

I don't think they CAN add any more incentive, since they'd probably be accused of promoting unhealthy play styles or something... I mean, let's face it, you'd basically have to stop sleeping and move your computer in front of the toilet to even stand a chance.

Blizzard learned their lesson last time. They had some cool sounding titles for it and people went berserk (and rightly so). It would be akin to Blizzard supporting a very unhealthy life style like they did with the original PvP titles which when they ended them said they "Didn't foresee people playing as much as they did to earn them"

Realm first raid boss kill is a lot more exciting because you get (in some cases, OS/Naxx 25s etc) a rather rare title.

  15. #15
That is why they removed the title, they don't want people to rush and skip all the new content, they want people to actually see what they've spent time on for them.

Imo, if you want to go skip real life to get an achivement, go for it. Will I? No way.

Blizzard doesn't like to admit it, but realm first achievements mostly encourage violations of one of their main rules. Very few realm firsts have been achieved without account sharing.

Thats the point though. Originally they planned for titles for realm firsts for each class, and in the tradeskills, but they didnt want to encourage people to not sleep (as I'm sure many would) to get it. This way you're at least acknowledged, but not given anything special.

The only one I can remember is that if you were a mage you would have got "Magister" as a prefix to your name. I remember some sounded pretty cool though, and I heard a fair few people say they would have gone for them. Hell, I know one guy that fished none stop till he hit 450 just on the off chance you still got a title. Cant remember how long it took him, but he was realm first and pretty disappointed.

I think thats kind of the point. Would be kinda stupid by blizzard to support further (i.e giving a title/mount/tabard) people thats on the brink of killing themselves trying to get realm first.
