Resilience no longer reduce the chance a player will be critically hit by an opponent

simple question !!! whats that means ?? this is the end of resilience ??

It will only be reducing dmg taken and possibly mana drains so i dont see why this will be the end of resilience.Currently on the ptr it says that "provides % damage reduction against all damage done by players and their pets or minions"

ok will see how melee dps will gear up !!! im sure they will prefer pve items with burst dmg !!!

Sounds like a perfectly valid solution to me.
Rather than effecting specs that work around critting the most the Cataclysm resilience effects everyone equally by just lopping a percentage off the damage done.

This goes well with the health boost, now everyone suffers equally with resilience and classes like frost mages don't get left in the dark.

as Nuronv said some specs do require you to crit alot and risilience was making those specs useless in pvp. now you can play any spec and still not be gimped by resilience

they will be only healers with resilience gear up !! all dps class will not in arena espesially if they got a healer in their set up. why a rogue or warrrior put resiliance now ? im sure they will prefer + crit + dmg gear

haha he thought resiliance only did that..? or what? i smell troll

i think this is an awesome change!

You crit more, but you still crit for less.

Critical hit != Critical hit damage

    It's a very good change

And I will be very happy if melee decides to wear more pve gear so we can instagib them. (Answer is no, they will still wear a mix)

It's there so that they didn't have to change Flurry, Deep Wounds etc etc
Scars show you the remnants and failures of the past.

this has been up on the officials forums etc..

and opponent isnt meant as another player.. but NPC..
resilience will still work as it usually did vs players..

Assuming it would just give you a % damage reduction so no reason to skip on the resil at all, bad thread

  16. #16
They can easily increase % of damage absorbed if they feel res gets less valuable.

Quite the contrary, resilience won't work against NPCs only against other players.

    Let's imagine this.
A Melee with no Resi and a PvE health pool will take the normal damage players dish out.
Imagine them facing out against a lolburst opponenent.
    ->> Dead melee.
A Melee with Resi and a higher healthpool, however, will still be able to survive, and roflstomp the burst-opponent.

How hard is this to see that Resi is still a bloody useful stat?

    Sometimes I worry.

The OP is a troll, thus he doesn't care if it is still useful or not. He only cars dat mele use al raid gere to get op burstz.

Also OP, Blizz has stated Cata pvp won't be Wrath's LOLBURSTFEST. They plan to move pvp back to the days of TBC where yes there was SOME burst but most matches would last MUCH longer due to survivability.

Yeah that won't happen anymore. Kind of the point of a lot of these changes.
