Almost 1.5k dps LOSS on the PTR

Ill admit it right now..im not reallly well geared. On live as it is with might buff and vengeance with t9 I do about 5k dps on the dumby. However, I just downloaded and started the PTR today. I took my pally to the SW dumbies and tried out the ret spec 2/2/34 or something like that. I have lost about 1.5k dps from that and that includes popping wings and zealot.

Maybe my rotation is wrong and if so then rets will be one hell of a class to master dps wise now..no joke. I usually would CS and HW and judge to get my 3 stacks of holy power then I would hit a TV. I would pop wings and hit the hammer anytime it would come up..and i would also hit exorcism anytime it would light up but mainly only used my holy power stacks for TV or the occasional word of glory heal on a teammate in my group to get that 12% bonus dmg. Even with that proc, i only was looking at 4k dps.

Why in the world do Ret's "get fixed" but yet lose so much dps?

Myself I dont really give a damn about how it will be on lvl 80, all that matters is how balanced the game is as lvl 85.

I was pulling 6k for like 30 seconds then dropped back to 5.9k on PTR. TBH I'm doing the same on live as I am on the PTR on the dummy, but I can't remember if there were many debuffs on it or not that led to the 6k DPS.

Because they obviously haven't been 'fixed' yet also it's good to see that ret's are starting to get an actual rotation instead of just smashing offensive ability's that light up.

Well even on live I thought my dps was lowish...I mean cmon, 4.5-5k only for 5.2k GS? In raids I was happy to get 5.5k in 10 mans single target.

Before you say "your rotation is off" I will say I have studied these guides here for hours and my rotation is the FCFS rotation explained by Ronark. I just dont know

Not really..wait for your 3 stacks to light up then smash a button. wait for your hammer to light up during wings then smash button. wait for exorcism to light up then smash button.

The rotation is so RNG and proc based that it is actually about the same as live is now. Although I admit it is more fun

None of its final , There are obviously going to be more changes in the beta , There is a while until the game is being released , Just wait till its nearer to the time and then I feel you'll find out how much damage you'll be doing in cata.

Dont know about you, but on the PTR i lost around 600AP and 10% crit, that is a big dps loss alone.

im pulling off nonstop 12-15k TVs with full pvp gear on my pal, but like others said - wait for 85 then spam the forums there is a major drop in stats at 85 until you get new blue/epics, so wait for it

I don't know why they would nerf ret dps , it isn't that high.

Every class is becoming more different, I don't know what homogenization you are talking about.

Youve got a ton of new talents and abilities.. things are different, and we are going to need to get used to new rotations and mechanics.

Also, as someone said before, you will problebly loose some crit and ap from stat changes alone.

Losing 1.5k dps is going to be noticeable when leveling. Classes that are out of whack in terms of dps at lvl 80 will probably be the last ones to get to 85.

But PTR/Beta is PTR/Beta. Send feedback.

And who cares if everything is utterly broken and out of whack when 4.0.1 hits live and we have to wait for cataclysm to release and then have to level like that to 85. Right?

Then we can really test the balance and numbers!

I don't know about the rest of you, but I know retri paladins doing 10K+ dps pre-icc gear, class isnt exactly at bottom of the dps

On a single target fight aka Festergut , there dps is ranking up around 4th over all the classes.
