OH joy of joys. Now the EU techinal support section has a server error. This is a very strange patch. Ending processes, repairing, downloading then not downloading, people getting no patch to download. Blizzard!!

All those with slow download speeds, have you checked your BG Downloader preferences and deselected "Don't Throttle Background Downloading"?
Having "Enable Peer-2-Peer Transfer" disabled can also cause your download to be slow as well.

Sorry for going a bit OT but my post in other topic fell on deaf ears so I'll try here

Bumping this thread because I'm just sick of trying everything to no avail. I haven't gotten any error or anything but instead, I run the downloader and it ghosts in the process list doing absolutely nothing.

1. I've tried changing the compatibility mode - nothing
2. I've tried repairing - nothing
3. I'm permamently on admin account so that's not the case
4. I've tried downloading the downloader itself, changing its compatibility, repairing it..

..and it's still the same fucking shit. Downloader is shown as active process but it's idling without any apparent effect.

Cba downloading 15gb when the patch hits so I'm asking if anyone has any more ideas on how to fix this problem.

try installing internet explorer 8, it helps with the problem you described in some cases. it helped me, and anyway it was suggested by a blue poster on tech forums

Got it in EU too now, a bit bigger than the US one, but that's because of the language packs iirc.

Also, keep in mind the patch probably won't be 16gb large, because for the PTR we currently download THE WHOLE GAME for further testing of the streaming downloader, not only the PTR patch.
So... I am wondering how close we are with the 4,45gb already.

Just confirming what others have said, stage 2 now available in the EU. Pulled stage 1 via a mirror, will do the same with stage 2, really can't be bothered messing with iptables to open the ports, plus it only took 30 mins to get stage 1.

I can sincerely confirm that running the torrent with your average torrenting software works 3 times better than Blizzard's downloader.
