well from the prices that are postet on mmo-champion, you would be able to buy 2 blue items with your 4k points, so not a big deal i would say.

Are there any information about how many points we will get in the Wotlk-herodungeons (for a kill and for the Daily/use of the dungeonfinder) from Patch 4.0.1 to Catarelease?

Because if the points for a kill is high enough it is better to buy yet Items (heirloom/Mammut and Co)and farm then only the points till Cataclysm release.

You need a total of 1455 forst/triumph badges to get the 4k points. It's a nice head start, but not really necessary as this pays for 2-3 blues.

For the 800th time, and why Boub still hasn't put this on the front page is a mystery, NO POINTS WILL NOT BE WIPED COME CATACLYSM. According to a blue post from Bashiok, you will be able to buy 1-2 pieces of blue heroic level 85 gear if you reach the 4000 point cap from the badge conversion.

1400ish badges to 2/3 pieces of gear, really? That seems very grindy to me.

The number of badges per heroic run better be significantly higher, cause 100s of heroic runs for one piece of badge gear seems pretty lame.

Looking at the screen caps, it appears that 1250-1650 buys you epic iLVL 359 pieces. Is that not correct? In that case, it would make sense to farm.

You are looking at wrong items. Those are purchased via Valor Points.

Yeah it's just designed to be grindy if we want a headstart now. So our efforts while not useless are less effect.

This is a worry.... However, remember that this is previous expansion content badges being converted to new expansion content. You wouldnt expect Badges of Justice to be converted to Emblems of Triumph at a rate of 1-2 would you? The price does seem very high for items though... 434 justice points for an heirloom item. thats like 220 triumph of frost badges. Currently the same item costs 50 hero badges on live. I can only assume that as we do content in cataclysm we will get more than the 2 justice points (which is what the current badges are being converted as) per boss kill.

I would also suggest that anyone wanting to get the current heirloom items for new alts (bearing in mind that the stats will probably not be totally ideal in cataclysm) get them now, before patch 4 hits and you find those items 4 times more expensive for you.

That could be because u are not meant to buy lvl 85 gear as lvl 80?? Could it be that at lvl 85 u would earn more points than what 1 triumph is worth per kill?

I think that just might be the case That OR we will all have to grind for months for each blue item. Sounds realistic.?

Yeah, on PTR currently at 80...each heroic boss gives 16 points. I like that someone did state earlier that each gives 75 points per heroic boss which 7 dungeons or so isn't bad for 1 piece of badge gear. Which is about what it costs now though.

I was thinking the same, 2250 for some pieces is kind of expensive, specially if the amount of points earned is the same as in the PTR 16 per boss, so in order to get 1 piece you need to kill 140 bosses or 35 instances (average of 4 bosses per instance). way to grindy for my taste, I dont want to run the same instances 100 times for only 3 pieces of gear...

so the numbers are about this IF the amount of points is the same as you earn in the PTR:

at 16 per boss

I left the weapons out since there are not 2H to compare price yet.

And I really hope my numbers are wrong, because I dont want to play World of Aion (for those that haven't played it, you run a boss 400 times to maybe see it drop something). I dont feel like doing 200 instances so I can have gear to step in heroics and raids

yes thanks for the drops and crafted gear.

And pre-BC farming was retarded no way anyone in this game would like to have that back, BC was not that bad It was not so grindy and gear from heroics was useful so you had a reason to run a heroic besides badges.
