    Which cata raid is easiests

I know we are still in the beta. But the way things are now, what would you say which raid instance is the easiest and hardest? My guild is thinking about which instance to start with. I'm talking about the real raids, and not Tol Barad.

He's blocking off the raid zone that is equivalent to VoA. It's not really a raid zone in the same sense as the others.

    Easiests isn't a word, broseph.

It's the same as Wintergrasp, is a big BG were one defends, other attacks, winners owns it for X time and gets a VoA-Style raid.

Sadly I think the answer to this will be Al'Akir, even though he will also be the most epic End Boss ever.

He said raid, not dungeon or raid boss. He also excluded Tol Barad which has a heroic mode this time so that might not be fair.

    The answers can only be
    Blackwing Descent
    Throne of Four Winds
    Bastion of Twilight

Please keep in mind that blues have said that raid fights that seem to easy will be getting damage buffs both in beta and for live. I heard Maloriak which seemed easy imo got a damage buff to the adds which makes them not as trivial.

I think it'd be easy to say the Throne of Four Winds would be the easiest but i can't see groups pugging the Conclave and we all know how well pugs handle coordinated flight movement *cough*Malygos*cough* Besides i think on Heroic this will be the best dungeon of the 3 because both fights have the potential to be so unique.

I think Blackwing Descent is going to be the easiest. It's fights seem to have the lowest learning curve and aren't too complicated on normal. I say easiest but i still don't think it'll be easy especially for full pug groups. A solid guild group should clear the raid more easily than Bastion and the Throne imo. Heroic difficulty could change all of that because a lot of the fights have new mechanics that we don't know how they could be changed for heroic. Atremedes and Chimaeron come to mind.

I thought BoT was the intro raid but it looks like Four Winds is easiest.

If you take that list that the guy above me posted and turn it upside down you'll have a fairly accurate list.

Bastion of Twilight - will most likely be the easiest raid instance. It is of course hard to tell since were still in beta, however the mechanics in that instance is just easier to learn and counter then the other ones. The first boss in here is unquestionably the simplest fight in the beta (excluding Baradin Hold).

Throne of Four Winds - only has two bosses however both require good individual performance from everyone in your raid. None of them are very hard, however it's most likely going to be very hard to carry any "bads" through it. If you have a group of good players it might be good to start here since the gear requirement is close to non-existant (at least in it's current state of beta)

Blackwing Descent - has a lot of never seen before mechanics. Nefarian is the only boss I haven´t tested so far on the beta, but even looking at the bosses leading up to him you'll realize that this is just marginally harder then any of the other once. And I'm not talking numbers here, numbers are gonna change, I'm talking about mechanics. Atramades is going to be very hard for some guilds. Chimaeron and Maloriak won't be a walk in the park either.

Bastion of Twilight most likely, due to the fact that Halfus is the most simple boss yet, and for that reason I see a lot of people starting with that one. Theralion and Valiona seems pretty tough though, the Council isn't too hard as they don't 1 hit you anymore. Descent has some tough looking fights, and the Conclave fight in Throne will be able to piss off a lot of guilds.

Blackwing Descent has some gimme bosses. Nefarian is the easiest 'end' boss. Chimaeron and Atramedes aren't conceptually hard. Maloriak is a bit tougher.

Bastion of Twilight is in the middle (Halfus is simple, Valiona and Theralion/Ascendant Council aren't bad, Chog'all is hard) though if you count Sinestra it's the hardest.

Al'Akir was the most challenging of the bosses tested so far so I'll give the nod to Throne of the Four Winds.

Blackwing Descent, followed by Bastion of Twilight, than Throne of the four winds. Blackwing has quite a lot of easy fights, the only fights that can really throw people off for a while is Atramedes and maybe Maloriak, but it's hard to say as Magamaw isn't being tested yet. Halfus is a joke, Valiona and Theralion is pretty much clump and spread out accordingly, and Ascendant council isn't too bad either once you know what each boss does. Cho'gall is very difficult, probably harder than any of the other bosses available with the exception of Al'Akir, although with the bugs in p3, it's hard to say once it has been dealt with.

If your healers have only played as healers in WotLK and you are an average guild (IE, not a guild which as been 12/12HM for the past 6 months) then I expect Chimaeron will just destroy your raid. It's not a conceptually hard fight at all, but pulling it out with people who are not used to a calmer style of healing are just unable to do this. They'll go OOM in seconds and won't have the throughput when you need it as a result. Expect that to be killer.

BWD is definitely the hardest overall raid. BoT is fairly simple really except for Chogall.

I haven't actually played Throne of Four Winds, but I've played all the rest of the bosses in the rest of the raids.

I do think you're overrating Chimaeron, I mean if you explain to everyone "don't heal anyone above 10,001 HP while the bile-o-tron is up" that should take about one pull to figure out. Unless the healers are just really bad at following directions. Atramedes is pretty unforgiving currently though if you get any sound at all. While Maloriak got buffed a lot, so did the Bastion of Twilight fights so eh. It's a toss up.

but it's pretty easy to avoid getting sound on that fight...

The good thing is, the latest Beta-Build really got it going. All Bosses we tested, in 10s and 25s all received SUBSTANTIAL buffs, as promised.

From what I've done since then, Chimaereon is probably the easiest, with Omni-Tron a close second.

But Good News Everyone: Those fights are still harder than probably 90% of Wrath Normalmodes, even in 10s. Cata shapes up to be a GREAT Expansion raiding-wise. Get yourself a guild or you'll miss out on most stuff. Can't wait for the hardmodes.

from what i've done so far in beta i would say from easiest to hardest:

Bastion of Twilight > Blackwing Descent > Throne of the 4 Winds

This is great news, glad to hear it!
