    Is "The Green Hills of Stranglethorn" still in the world?

    Is the quest The Green Hills of Stranglethorn still there in cataclysm, or has it been removed?
    I wanna go back to my trainer and learn a new spell in the next expansion! And we all need to be able to fly from day 1 ! (And fly over the Exodar and Silvermoon on our own mounts!)

    How many of those quests come with achievements? Ones that specifically mention them by name.

    Green hills is part of a meta achievement.

    I understand the nostalgia factor, but that quest line must have been specifically engineered to grief low level characters. Every mob in the zone dropping the pages regardless if one has the quest or not is obnoxious.

    they changed it so you only have to take one page to him. presumably that is now what counts towards the achievement.

    Yes, I did do that on my first character
    But not so much on my alts, though over time they could mail the pages, so the next one could finish it *g*

    But it sounds like they keep it, with some tweaks. I do hope they have fixed all the really bad drop item type of quests.

    They did? Might have to do this quest come cata, it's the only one im missing for my meta.

    i've done it on every character ive gone through STV with. I know i collected for days while leveling my first guy back in the day, but taking ~10 characters through STV on the same server will net you a ton of pages. After my second guy, i've just had the pages automatically for each character i take through, and like clockwork, when i ding 32, i'll generally mail (or rpeviously mailed the pages) and turn them in. Its been free experience for all my characters since 2006. granted this takes up a good amount of bank space, but i have plenty of that.

    ive actually made close to 500g selling some of my pages to people sick of farming for them. last few pages i sold the guy offered me 50g a piece.

    as for the shedder quest, i think i did it on my first character, and then on my DK when i went back and did loremaster. but i honestly dont remember what the quest is, or where you get it, so im pretty sure ive skipped it on everyone else.

    I NEVER did that awful quest. Ever since Vanilla on my level 30 mage I just scoffed at the idea of collecting the pages and abandoned the quest. Sheesh I can't believe they seriously thought that was a good idea for a quest! XD

    I don't think buying them is worth it. I could just do another quest, or if its CtA that weekend, get like 2 thirds of level in 10 minutes. Any thing is better than this quest atm.
