I am not really sure if this is where i put this type of thread, but i felt like it fit here.

I am currently on the RP server Argent Dawn and this realm has always been "high pop" or "med pop". Now that cata has come out,
I am placed in a queue for 700 people. I know they have some server having free mitigation services, and have wanted to do this, but the only RP server i see that is doing that is Moon Guard.

I am not trolling, but it really frustrates me that I play very rarely and when I do play, i have to wait about an hour to LOG IN. also, I finally got in and i got disconnected. I had to wait AGAIN. It REALLY ticked me off. Should i just deal with it? I have 5 allts and my main on this server and i am not paying for a transfer. Any suggestions? (no trolls, please)

nothing you can really do besides get over it, yea it sucks, but we are all dealing with it. They are giving free xfers on some realms, but not everyone wants to do that.

Pay for a transfer or wait for it to die down, thats all you can really do.

Give it some time. Once the new expansion fervor wears off, the queues should start disappearing.

If you relog right after being disconnected you get in without waiting.

Also 700 ppl is nothing, try 3.5k+ people and waiting 3 hrs to get in... Its ridiculous. Blackrock IS full, everyone GTFO.

i think its worse that most of said population in said servers are just noobs trying new characters... when i logged in on my shammy finally, i was welcomed by about 10 lvl 1s just standing around...

Same with me, once I logged in after a 1.5 hour wait and got disconnected within 3 minutes..... then had to wait another hour and a half.

or be preemptive and get in the queue 20mins before you play, while doing something else, eg dinner, chores etc

Seriously, though, I hate that non-RP'ers are clogging up the RP servers and creating queue problems.

And if you complain about it, they tell you to "buzz off" (I put it nicer than it is).

All it does is bring up a bigger issue: why are non-RP'ers taking up space on a RP server? Why don't they just dawdle on a PvE server instead?

Let's just say if I want to play at the moment I need to plan 4 hours ahead (3200 queue) so 700 would be a godsend. Don't worry, the rush will be over eventually.

My queue to get onto Kil'Jaeden is about 2k on average at any time past 3PM PST.
Its a server I am on so I can play with RL friends so transferring isn't really an option.
What i do is install wow on a crappy laptop and keep myself logged in on it wherever I can. Most blockers that offices and schools use don't block you from reaching the game servers just the game website.

Guess I'm lucky I have a crapola server. I have transfered since Wrath but other one was pretty much identical in crappyness and pop...had to wait in queue every day for like the first week in Wrath and I have yet to see it since Cata has launched.

Just a helpful little tid bit, as someone previously mentioned... when you finally connect to the server, you have a small window(I think it's between 2-5mins but I can't 100% verify the time) to log back into the game before you have to re-enter the queue. Just be happy that you don't log into a server that has a 2500-3000+ queue line. I would gladly take 700 during high-play times, that's only like a 20-30min wait, from my experience.

I'm personally more upset that DPS queue times for dungeons are upwards of almost an hour now on my server, and I decided to level my mage first instead of a healer or tank. =(
