    Cool Best F2P MMO? & My Top 5 F2P MMO's

    I like playing F2P MMO's and trying out new MMO's just to see what's out there. I'm interested to see what your favorite F2P MMO's are (F2P meaning Free 2 Play no monthly sub), this can mean a optional cash shop though. So far my top F2P MMO's are;

    (I'm not counting Lord of the Rings Online current switch to F2P, obviously this game is more polished than all the rest imo)

    My Top 5 MMO's;
    1. Global Agenda (On release this game was a bit of a failure, upon the few new patches the game has already grown a lot better. It's a very fun game PvP wise, PvE wise it is lacking terribly and shouldn't be played for PvE alone. Considering the deals of about $5-15 dollars for the game I had to count it as F2P even though it technically isn't.)

    2. Allod's Online (Very polished MMO, even on release and technically the #1 spot if you don't count Global Agenda. I played some open beta and enjoyed it, but the leveling was too slow for my taste so I took a break and went back on release. It's still a very solid game, tons of classes, open world, a very good choice for those tired of WoW and want to give something else a shot. Be warned though, like most MMO's this game has taken many things from WoW and ends up feeling a lot like WoW at times.)

    3. Vindictus (The thing about Vindictus is that it is easy to get into and have fun quickly. It is an action MMO and is very fast paced. The only problem with it is it doesn't feel like an MMO, you go into instances where you fight mobs and a boss at the end. Leveling up is fairly quick which adds to the fun, if you like action MMO's, this is by far the best out right now until TERA .

    4. Dungeon Fighter Online (I love the art style and concept in this game, its another fast paced MMO. If you like arcade games with MMO attitude, this game will be a better choice than Vindictus.

    5. Runes of Magic (Another AAA F2P MMO, only problem here is the cash shop is bigger than a lot of F2P MMO's. You can literally spend a ton of money and become amazing, I hate MMO's like that, BUT, putting that aside it still is a very polished game with tons of things to do.

    What I Still Need To Play;
    Dungeons & Dragons Online

    What I Played & Didn't Like;
    Maple Story
    Flyff
    Runescape
    The list goes on....

    Most Anticipated Upcoming MMO's;
    1. Tera
    2. RIFT
    3. C9
    4. DCUO
    5. Titan

    Thanks, I might try some of these now. Vindictus isn't available in eu though.

    I really loved Conqueror Online

    Chain of Command (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chain_o...mputer_game%29) is one that I played religiously before 2AM Games went bankrupt in 2001 but I still play on the weekends with a dedicated group of people.

    I played allods from release. Then the cash shop came out.....I'm not sure if anything has changed but I know there was a patch coming that was first released in the russian version and basically was going to ruin the game and make the cash shop basically mandatory (even though it was basically already even before the patch) and would cost you 5x as much as a p2p sub just to play the game...the company gpotoato or w/e didnt seem to give a shit even after months so I'm guessing probably 80% of the community quit and never looked back along with myself.

    Played rom also awhile ago...RoM was great imo. Mainly becasue all the ways around the cash shop. If you knew how to make alot of gold, did dailies, ect. You really didnt even need the cash shop and could still max out and get good gear. Hell you could even buy diamonds with gold I remember. Played that game for like 5-6 months and only spent around 20 bucks I think but was still doing all endgame content. Even that dam pirate instance....dont remember the name but dam it was brutal. Pretty sure not many people who played at that time ever made it in there lol.

    DDO - awesome game, if you like dungeon running it blows wow out of the water, but there is no questing, and very little solo play if you like that sort of thing. UI / keybinding needs alot of customising to really be good though. Great character building and gearing system.
    Atlantica online - great stories and a really fun game, its not what you normally see in a mmo, the combat works more like a turn based game, and you control 9 characters instead of just one.

    both games require a little money investment to get the most out of them though, but nothing like allods or those games that pretend to be free, but are near unplayable without money.

    havent been impressed by any other f2p games. LOTRO is good, the character design is nice, but you get so little for free im not sure you could describe it as such.

    hmm just took a look at global agenda, it looks pretty fun, might give it a try

    Allods was alright, it's reallllly grindy and wasn't my type of game..

    I also tested LOTRO and though it was a promising game although I only got to level 10.. but it looked like a fun game.

    Also, I downloaded Runes of Magic and really liked it, it's a great WoW replacement and it's f2p even though I hear it helps to buy items for your character (with real life money) in the shop once you're max level. But over all it looked like a great game.

    played runescape for yearssss, have almost a yar play time on my guy lvl 137 out of the max 138, i gota vote rs just ebcause it was so fun, but primarily because the community of people on it are for the most part intelligible and in many cases sincere. the community wins RS for me.

    I find that the bolded isn't exactly true. Isn't the only way to get experience and advance through the ranks and levels to complete quests? Most of which with objectives to run through a dungeon.

    hmm, well the dungeons are like quests, but there is nothing like wow quest system. Its a dungeon crawler, and a very good one, but outside that there isnt much to do.

    Dont be put off though, its a truly great game with a good community and I love it

    Used to play LOTRO alot, great game PvE-wise but lacking in PVP ALOT, which is why I quit.

    It's also awesome for roleplayers, great roleplayers around if you compare it to what's going on in WoW.

    Ive been looking around lately since WOW does not support my "casual" gaming style in co-op 5 mans. I think I go LOTRO for a while - RIFT sounds good.

    One thing is certain - WOW is now out of the question after the horrible experience that LFD pugs are going through atm.

    some screens of atlantica, if you are even slightly curious give it a try

    I played it fine without paying anything, and you can get travel scrolls and stuff with ingame currency or by hunting treasure chests, the pvp is great and pve is challenging and fast paced (especially the shadow dungeons - ouch) very intelligently designed game.

    League of Legends is a great game, idk if it falls under this category, but it seems VERY cheesy at first, but i have found it to be an incredibly addicting and fun game to play with friends.

    I spent a few years playing Guild Wars, pretty fun f2p mmo. I'm anticipating GW2, but it keeps looking like vaporware.

    I agree with you here. We have a few people in our guild who complain nonstop about LFD pugs, yet make absolutely no effort to put together a 5/5 guild run. The rest of us are doing at least 4/5 guildies and are having a wonderful time in heroics.

    no Guild Wars 2? thats gonna surely be more anticipated than those listed. Its gonna have some ground breaking mmo mechanics in it.
    But its gonna come WHEN ITS READY. No deadline on it yet.

    They are presented in a different way and because any area where you fight is basically the equivalent of wow's instanced it feels more dungeon like.

    What got me was that creatures don't really drop loot and you have to look for treasure chests through out the dungeon, that and having to click to attack all the time at first.

    I would say Runescape, but I don't count the P2P content as F2P (the F2P content was very dull imo). So I'm gonna have to say LotRO.
