Mountains rise in the distance stalwart as the stars, fading forever.
Roads ever weaving, soul ever seeking the hunter's mark.
Rant:
Pretty dumb. Guess I can't post any pictures with buildings; fear of heights and all. Can't post pictures of people, either; I don't like violence. Can't post...
...
It's pictures. You should know know what you sign up for when you browse a PICTURE THREAD. It's a PICTURE. It poses NO THREAT. Regardless of phobias, there is literally zero threat in a picture. A fear is based upon something happening. This makes no sense.
Embedding all my images in protest.

This has bugger all to do with threats in pictures. A phobia is a real and documented mental disorder which is a disabling fear of something which rational thought assures it's not scary. It is an irrational fear for something which you should not fear. and because it's irrational it has nothing to do with apparent threat. It's irrational like that school which suspended a toddler because he made a gun out of his sandwich. not a single rational being would even begin to think that such a gunwich would actually be of any harm (maybe if you choked on it), but they still suspended the student over the irrational fear for anything gun related.
so people don't complain about me complaining, here's a phobia i'd rather have.
So you actually freak out / whatever for seeing an image of something that can't possibly harm you?
...
So if you had an allergic reaction to peanuts, would you actively seek peanuts for you to eat? Because that's basically what you're doing, browsing images on a thread dedicated to images. It's an inevitability that an image would involve a spider.

K, I want a mod to lock the thread, people are being inconsiderate about my eagle phobia even after I asked them to stop.
Hurhurdurdur.

For clarity: I'm not asking people to stop posting spider images. I'm not asking for censorship or something like that. I can handle a spider image somewhat, but it still makes me feel somewhat queazy. If you hotlink a spider image, it stays on the page no matter what and I keep seeing it whenever I scroll past it or when I browse this page. When it's just a link, I can simply ignore it. If you have hyperlink-clicking-phobia (if so, then why are you on the internet) but still want to see the link, there are Chrome and Firefox plugins which show images if you mouseover one. It's what I personally use.
Obligatory XKCD link (there is an XKCD for everything).
So what makes your request for censorship stronger and more important than anyone else's?
I hearby request all images be in link format with an appropriate warning label, so as to not possibly offend ANYONE.
Oh, and a fear of spiders isn't that irrational; some are very poisonous, and it can be hard to tell the difference.
"Auto-correct is my worst enema."
the fact that about 1 in 5 views of this thread is from someone who suffers from arachnophobia as well? check my arachnophobia thread for the math.
and I'm not asking for censorship. censorship would be if I demanded you stop posting them. I just try to kindly ask people to be considerate in their postings in one of the biggest threads, and to not use them in plain sight. Think of it as a video store who puts the porn on the top shelves, away from the Disney films, so that children can't get to them. It's not censorship, it's being considerate.

Also, i have no issue with linked spider images. you can link them all you want. just don't embed them in the page so arachnophobes can ignore them easier.
If you are going to keep spouting this I want some proof.
If you are going to link the wiki page i'm going to link this from it.
Are you going to say 1 in 5 suffer such extreme cases of arachnophobia?
