Shadow Orb Addon

Aside from something like Power Word Auras, is there any addons out there that someone would recommend to track how many shadow orbs I have? I am thinking maybe something similar to a rogue's combo point HUD or something like that.

Get Elkano's buff bars and make a bar for it, i have it as a big
x[Orb's Number]
above my casting bar.

But blizzard's default button aura should be enough to track when you have at least 1 up.

Yeah, I have an Elkano's bar above my unit frame which shows my Shadow Orbs, Empowered Shadow, and some other DPS-related short-term buffs.

If you don't like mucking about with Elkano's (as I personally don't, the customization is really nice but takes quite a while to get just right) try an addon called TellMeWhen. You get multiple bars with 4 icons each, each button on a bar can be set to light up or go off when certain things happen, and I have mine set to light when I have an orb, has a x3 when I have three, etc, and has a countdown timer built in. Really nice stuff.

There is no in game aura for when shadow orbs proc unfortunately as I have been quite satisfied with the addition of this new in game incorporation of POWA. Yeah, I hate addons that take 90 hours to get configured. I happen to somewhat like the default blizz frames and the raid frames are way better than they used to be though I personally use Vuhdo to heal.

I was looking for something really graphic, like a giant HUD with one, two, or three giant shadow orb icons displayed near my char. I wish I could write addons lol seems like this would fit a nice niche.

why not use power auras? its perfect for what you want

I use classtimers to track my Orbs, Empowered Shadows and other procs such as trinkets etc...

I use a custom interface with power auras, but MFclip addon actually works great for all of your spells and shadow orbs. You should give it a try.

Well why you need orbs number after all?
You need to cast MB with 1 orb so you just need to monitor 1 orb, since Cata your MB is getting a glaring aura on your bars after you get 1 orb up so it's pretty hard to miss.
Anyway i still think that Elkano's is what you need give it a try and make a big white number x1 x2 x3 to show where you like when orbs are up, it's gonna take you like 10 seconds to configure the bar.

Blizzard shoud have adapted their UI like other alternative ressources-using class (DK/Pal/Wlk/Rog)

Is there a setting for this somewhere? I only get the Blizz Aura on my Mind Blast icon when I have 3/3 orbs up, but would much rather have it when I have > 0 orbs up.

Also if you want something easy to set-up and would be kind of Hudesque I don't see why you wouldn't use Power Auras. I set it up so that I get purple wave lines on either side of my character when I have ES up and a flame effect above my head when I have 1 or more orbs up. Also if you really want to know exactly how many orbs you have there is an option that it will track the number of stacks as well. There are many options you can set to make it look how you want and it is extremely easy and quick to set-up.

I use Power Auras as well to track mine. Instead of using stack numbers, I just use one image and have it change colors depending on how many stacks I have (Green=1, Blue=2 Purple=3). Works well for me. Simple and effective.

I have three icons below my character which glow per orb. Bottom right for the first orb, bottom left for the second, bottom center for the third. I set up ForteXorcist to display the remaining duration on Empowered SHadows and Dark Evangelism, so it's got them all covered.

This angers and confuses me. I can't understand why they think we wouldn't want to see that?

I'm -eventually- going to set up Power Auras to do it and various buffs because it's nice looking and awesome.

Yury's Rune Display is a cool addon for DK's to display their runes and cd's on runes etc. It is completely moveable around the screen and resizeable. It can be set to vertical or horizontal, curved or straight, etc.


Guess I'll just work on setting up POWA even though I have it disabled atm bc the in game ones for everything else is quite sufficient. Instead of the ambiguous icons, I like to use the text like, "You've got a shadow orb" lol. That way you can't get confused.
