    Razer Megalodon or Sennheiser 360

    Hi!
I'm looking for a new headset and been searching around quite some bit these last days. And the two that attract me the most are Sennheiser 360 and Razer Megalodon. So I would like to hear your personal expirience about these two, both bad and good stuff about them. ( Feel free to say another headset, but only if you had one of these before ).

    Thanks in adnvace

Sennheiser 360. I've seen overwhelmingly positive reviews of it, both Swe-sites and international.

Sennheiser is an audio-company, making headsets.
Razer is a gaming-company, making headsets. That alone should note the advantage of Sennheiser.

However, do note that I'm partial against Razer. But I try to be impartial when I make calls like this.
I'd still go with the Sennheiser.

Of those two (as they are AFAIK of the same budget range) - the PC360 is definetly to prefer. Really its biggest disadvantage is that it doesn't have the audio quality of high end headphones., like in the 200 dollar+ range... basically because its just cheaper.

Due to its 'open' cup, sound is slightly prone to leak out - bear this in mind if you prefer to play at loud volume. It also means that outside noise won't really be overly silenced either.

I also can't quite ignore Razers tendency to skimp a bit on quality. Far to often Razer is synonymous for 'breaking quickly', even on their top range devices.

Sennheiser has amazing quality. I'm very jealous of my boyfriend's headset, lol.

Hmm... overall Sennheiser seems to have better reviews, but I looked more into the Logitech G35, and it truly look like an amazing headset as Frosty said. So Against Logitech G35 and Sennheiser 360, which will give me the best performance?

360 has superior performance - but the G35 should be a fair bit cheaper.

It's rather unfair to even compare, when you're talking about company that has 60 years of experience with professional and consumer audio hardware vs mouse manufacturer's DSP'd fake 7.1 surround.

If you're interested in sound quality for music and movies as well as getting good gaming headset the Sennheiser PC 360 is pretty clear choice.

Pretty much this right here. I've used Sennheiser stuff off and on for the last several years, and even their cheap stuff is really good when compared to other stuff. There are other companies in the audio business that do make similar quality products. But compared to someone like Razer, mostly no contest.

PC-360 is essentially the 555s or 595s with a mic. If you're comfortable doing a mic-mod, get the 595 cans(or ad700s) and have them modded. If not, get the pc-360s. PC-350 is essentially a closed-ear version of these, which does make the sound feel a little less natural, but you can find them for dirt cheap on amazon and other online retailers.

If you plan to use these at all for console gaming(ps3/x360), be aware that the Astro Mixamp or Steelseries audio mixer are required for use.

I own a bunch of different audio equipment(astro a40s, pc350s, pc360s, tritton ax pros, razer mega, hd-555s, turtle beach hpx, astro mixamp, steelseries audio mixer, etc) and personally I think the Razer Carcharias are the best value @~$70- the specs do not look very special, but they pack a surprisingly wide-sound stage and overall quality I'd put them just below the 360s, 555s and audiotechnica ad700s. My only complaint with them is that the earcups are a little on the small side, and the microphone doesn't work very well with the astro mixamp(xbox 360 usage).

tl;dr: Between the two you listed, 360s with ease. If you're open to trying other things, 595s/ad700s with a mic mod or the razer carcharias.

    PC-360, it's not even a contest.

I mean really, one of the oldest headphone manufacturers that has pushed amazing headphones after another out for ages already

    VS

Well, a mouse manufacturer that has started to try new fields.

Megalodon ain't a TERRIBLE choice by any means, but the sound quality of PC-360 just blows it away for anyone who has some good ear. Another good choice would be Sennheiser HD555 and mod them into 595, and get an desk mic.

Read about the Sennheiser 360 at Sennheiser website and they dont actually mention too much about gaming. So is it a good option for FPS games?

I dont' really understand the question, or maybe you're asking the wrong question. Headphones is a piece of hardware that transfers analog electric signals into sound, there's nothing even remotely gaming related in the process involved, not even when it comes with Razer brand.

If you're interested in nothing else but accurate reproduction of sound in both the microphone and the headphones you take something like the Sennheiser PC 360. On the other hand if you want faked surround for 'cool' effects in first person shooters or amplified speech frequency to make people talking sound clearer while music sounds worse you pick something like the Megalodon.

Razer is gaming equipment from gamers to gamers.

I have sennheiser headset and i can tell it sux. Not by any audio standard but it just doesnt stay on my head...if i tip my head even a little forward it will fall off. My former headset was better than this, but it broke.
Sounds are nice in sennheiser but its not fun when you cant lift something from the floor with it.... its so unstable. I dont know about the newer sennheisers.
    Good mic too.
But no im not using 360 so its alot different........ or is it?
