The Outsiders by S.E Hinton. Shed a tear.
I have to say Lord of the Flies was the one book I ever read that I absolutely hated. It was awful
I guess if we are counting The Hobbit, we should count Lord of the Rings too
I liked the age of innocence - Edith Warton
No one has said 1984 by George Orwell or The Screwtape Letters by C.S Lewis
The Lord of the Rings
"With this costume, I'll get Asian girls for sure!"
- Judge Malthred revealing my avatar's inner thoughts
Some of my favorites:
The Great Gatsby - F. Scott Fitzgerald
The Trial - Franz Kafka
Siddhartha -Hermann Hesse
The Idiot - Fyodor Dostoyevsky
Not novels but plays:
The Visit - Friedrich Dürrenmatt
Othello - Bill Shakespeare (Iago is possibly the most evil character ever)
A Streetcar named Desire - Tennessee Williams (I loved this play ever since I saw the movie adaptation with Marlon Brando. He somehow makes Stanley feel more like the protagonist than the antagonist that he is in the play. Amazing)
The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood
Of Mice and Men.
"Ok, fuck it, I lied. It's drum and bass."
The Alchemist. My all time fav
Frankenstein.
I am appalled that it has not yet been mentioned.
1984.. If that one counts.
East of Eden is my all time favorite novel.
Of Mice and Men is also incredible.
Basically I have a man crush for John Steinbeck. I even quoted him for my senior quote in high school :P
