Binding F keys in WoW, mission impossible

    Sup boiz.

I'm using a Logitech G510 and I came up across a new problem today on my shaman: I need moar keybinds. I thought about the F keys (F1-4, ideally), you know, those on top of the 1-0 row? Yea, those.). Now I tried to bind it, but WoW seems to ignore them. If I press F1, it opens up Steam atm, for some reason (I haven't set it up like that).

I am pretty sure comp forums are the good place for this as it relates to how Windows behaves in reaction to a key press. Now I'd like to make WoW read it. I never ever use F keys out of bios/boot up process, so if they need to be deactivated or w/e, do eeeet.

    My totems thank you.
    Chicken

EDIT: The source of the problem has been found. F1 is bound to Steam, and I need to un-bind it so I can use it in-game. Post solutions below.

Weird, I guess you use an addon like Dominos or some other action bar addon? You should bind the button using that, and it should work (I know mine does!).

    F1 - Camo
    F2 - Set Focus
    F3 - Ground Mount
    F4 - Flying Mount

    Works for me

Try calling them with a modifier held down, like alt

I play(ed) Shaman, and I just shoved my G-keys to modified nonused keys, like alt+. or alt+,
Seeing as alt is my least commonly used modifier, I can also use Ctrl/Shift+G-keys

My laptop had a similar problem, when i tried to used the Function keys they performed their alternate function like vol up, vol down, screen brightness up.. etc
Then i just read the manual(yeah you should do too) and it said that it could be chamcged at the bios/setup screen, and it was indeed.

Actually, that is the sole reason we even play WoW. We simply could not stand all those girlfriends jumping at you at every corner of the street if we didn´t.

Yes, what Yohassakura said, an addon like Dominos or Bartender or something similar should work. If you're using Shestak UI it's /hb to configure your keybinds.

I know, but when I press it, WoW doesn't see the F key I pressed and Windows make it do whatever it does, not WoW.

I know, it just deosn't recognize it, no matter what I use. You guys misunderstand the problem. It's not that it doesn't work, it doesn't recognize it.

    Works fine on my G19

I press F1 no matter what I do in-game (trying to bind, just standing there, etc) and it opens up something else that is not WoW-related (Steam, in this case). How do you make it so WoW recognizes it?

One would think it not recognizing it means it doesn't work... But sure, why not?
Congratulations, your mind has been expanded.

It seems you've bound your keyboard to open up steam and forget about other programmes even while playing full screen games. Go into your Key Profiler and select the bound button, change it.

Sadly the keyboard software/drivers don't come with that feature (go figure), believe me I tried. Feel free to check if you're still sceptical. Any other options?

I would start with closing steam.
Other then that, I didn't have any problems with any of my binds :/ And I have most of my F-keys bound to something.
Is there any option is steam to unbind the "open" button? or something close to it.

Go to the steam options, disable the F1 keybind.

Maybe it's just G19 Capable, would of thought it was the same software all 'round I do apologise for a glimmer of hope I may of given you.

Confirmed, that's what I need to do. Can't find the option to, tho. Any help?
