    Trigger happy AFKreporters

So i stopped to answer a realID whisper, and ended up typing a long response... I pressed enter and got kicked from the BG for afking. It's happened several times, whats up with people being big on stopping afkers?

And what happened to the failsafe you get when being reported... you have like... 30 seconds to get in combat or something? Stopping to answer a whisper isnt exactly afking...

So I herd you liek to chat instead of PVPing.

Really tho, the reason why it's so strict now is because of how many fucking bots are out there. Not only because of how many but because of how freaking clever they're getting. Some bots will follow you and the second they're put in combat, they'll hit numbers 1 and 2 on your actionbar (attack:heal/defensive ability) and actually run when low. If you pay attention closely you'll see their repetitive patterns which clearly shows them as a bot.

Meh people are only really observant when your in the graveyard...you could move 3 feet away from the graveyard and people will think your playing.

But as said above there are just so many bots running around in random BG's that people try and kick them (whats the use another bot will just join)

Sometimes the inactive buff can be a good trolling device too, someone reports you,you get the buff, run up to someone and bitch slap them then run away and its cleared lol

Well, it's like if you went to write a long response to a whisper while you were supposed to be tanking a boss in Stonecore or something - odds are you're setting the group back. And with BGs generally being a bit more frantic and fast-paced than a dungeon, people need a quick solution mid-battle to the problem.

The sooner the vote-to-kick / report afk is effective, the sooner the group can go back to competing on a fair playing field (or as fair as possible outside of skill levels / team balance etc).
Arguing on the internet is like...

I had one following me in AV a couple weeks ago, so I ran it too the deep pool of water outside the alliance "fortress" and swam to the bottom while in seal form. Nothing funnier than watching them drown while trying to "run" away.

It's always fun to get the AFK followers stuck on something or die, I had one so jumped off a cliff and slow falled so he fell to death once.

When i go and Bg it up or pvp blah blah i play to win and have fun, if i see your standing still and not moving i'll report you simple as that, if your replying to a long convo your having with another person then take it out of the match, not there to carry you for honor im there to play as a team and win...

i remember my dog was going crazy b/c they wanted outside to pee. i finally stopped to do this in a BG after I died. I was gone in like 30 secs....came back and i had been reported afk. i had to get into combat asap or else be kicked. thank you morons that reported me.

i've said it multiple times....this game has the worst community out there.

It's like AB. Say I'm guarding a flag. I've been reported AFK while guarding flags more times than I care to count. You get the buff and nobody's around usually that you can see and you get kicked for doing your job.

When talking in PvP I typically use standing at the graveyard, waiting for a rez, or autorunning as prime times to talk.

Additionally, I don't typically type long responses. It's my style

    to talk like this

    if the need be, or

if the "voice and tone" of my statement requires pauses or breaks.

So people I'm talking to typically expect my responses in short bursts.

if you are typing is it really that hard to move with your mouse and attack something real quick?

Just tell the other person "one sec, in combat" and get back to them at your leisure.

Because real AFkers ruin a lot of things and sometimes it seems like nothing is done against them. Just one of blizzards terrible customer service examples.

It can't happen to you that often that it is a real problem for you, if it does, then you are the problem and it's good something is being done.

    Better safe then sorry

This ^ and in any 10 man bg having one person afk can make a difference, and if everyone had the same mentality as the OP who would run the actual bg? you were afk long enough for it to bother someone, time your responses better next time

Or worse, you do find someone to attack to drop the debuff, but the other team manages to assault the base you were defending, and your team yells at you for not defending.

I'd have to say that, if you're taking so long to type a reply to your friend, you're probably not contributing to the battleground. I see nothing wrong with the report.

If you don't move, you are AFK.
If you are AFK, you are not contributing.
If you are not contributing, I report you
If you are reported, you will be kicked
If you are kicked enough times, you will be banned

Honestly, the system works just fine.
