if you mean favorite as in can watch anytime and have seen multiple times, then i am going to have to go with Peter Benchley's The Beast

Sure some of the acting is a tad wonkey, but William Petersen more than makes up for it. The SFX are a little ropey too, especially where the beast comes ashore in the second half of the movie. Yet Given all its little flaws I absolutely love this movie must have seen it a couple of dozen times and is a must for any monster movie loving person.

The book is also very good.

Edit: if a high quality true-to-book Halo movie was ever made that would probably be my favorite. Highly doubt anyone is willing to put the time and money into making a good Halo movie though.
