I couldn't get into the first game. I played it on Xbox and the controls were just batshit aweful and everything was just bad.

eh if it is like the first game it was a fun hack and slash game, but only problem is it didnt really have much replay value. dont get me wrong it was pretty fun but once it was over that was kinda it sadly.

The only issue with Darksiders I had was that it switched way to frequently between "kill everything" to puzzle-games, to "search and discover", to "try everything you can think of until you realize you need to get back two zones and get something you need here" or "you know that statue you passed fifteen minutes ago that you couldn't do anything on? Well, now you can, but you have to run back the long way".

Except for the few times it really felt like the devs was punishing you as a player for wanting to play something differently (it was extremely linear), I'd say that otherwise it was a pretty awesome game. Really. The voice actors in particular surprised me, they really felt like real characters living in their own universe. And who in their right mind wouldn't love to be one of the horsemen, bad controls or no?

Having now taken a break to find out more about Darksiders2, it looks like it's the same game but with Death, instead of War. Like an expansion. I might try it out if I see it on a sale somewhere, but there are other games I'm looking forward to more.

Sounds interesting I personally liked the art style of the game but awful controls kept me from playing for long,if they can fix the controls then I'd be interested.

I'm really excited for it. I loved the first game, since it was so similar to a Zelda-style game but bloodier (obviously). Interested to see what the changes for Darksiders 2 will be like. Hopefully it will be just as good, if not better. =) It's going to be a while before it's released though. Ugh. =(

This game is definitely one I'm looking forward to. I loved the first game to pieces. The "leveling up" was a bit linear but it never bothered me any, I just always wanted what came next anyways.

With the changes to the game like loot, gear and talents I think Darksiders 2 is going to be down right amazing.

I disagree with the fail game part. I thought the combat was intuitive and fluid and the game was fun. I agree that a virtually nice body doesn't make a game good but it didn't hurt it any. It's a matter of opinion though, I thought the game was fun all around.

OT: From all the I've seen/heard about Darksiders 2 my only wish is that floating combat text can be toggled. Aslo I could really care less if this game is the best of its kind, it's the art, story and the entire theme that make me love this game. I love the whole angels and demons mythology. I'm stoked for this game and as I understand it they are making a game for each Horseman, so I couldn't be more excited.

Anyways I got darksiders on the steam summer sale, played it for like an hour and it's meh at best. I might pick up 2 in a year or 2 when it's like 5 bucks

Meh, big difference between bayonetta and darksiders? darksiders has no quicktime events, therefore minipuzzles and weapons that actually do something out of combat

i liked darksiders more, going to buy darksiders 2 surely too

Dev videos say they've fixed the issues with puzzles, so no more Black Throne nonsense. First game was rather short, too, and they also say they're gonna address that, and people complaining that it was too much like Zelda. Think the second game is something closer to single-player Diablo (loot whores-r-us!)

By far my favorite hack-n-slash, because the story actually interests me. I personally don't give two shits about whiners calling it a god of war clone... they call every hack-n-slash a GOW clone these days
