Firestones replacing loot

I couldn't find any threads on this so apologies if that isn't the case.

Pre-Hotfix, when firestones dropped for us, they dropped as extra pieces of loot along with the 2 pieces of armour etc and tonight the firestone dropped, but replacing a piece of loot like the shared loot does, was this intentional or has anyone else experienced this?

Yeah, this happened to my guild last night. Instead of the usual 2 epics off Heroic Beth, there was a Firestone and 1 epic. Prior to that, we had always gotten 2 epics + a Firestone.

I think they've always had a chance to replace a piece of loot or be added on. We had three (yes, THREE) from shannox heroic tonight, all replacing loot. We then had one from... Alysrazor I think which was added to the loot (6 pieces + firestone).

RNG could be RNG, but we saw our first ever last night off of H Alys

The drop rate never changed, the hotfix was that you could get a firestone in place of one of the Shared Loot that could drop off any boss (weapons obviously) thus making it possible to get more than one firestone.

So you still have the same old normal drop chance + another chance from shared weapons.

We got 6 Firestones tonight from 6 bosses, definitely buffed drop rate. We also got a random shared boss loot from every boss and we and multiple guilds I know people in got Alysrazor mount, I heard it's 100% drop rate on Heroic mode now.

Yeah it's looking like the drop rate was indeed buffed.

Just killed on heroic and no mount for us so not 100%

I also did notice that about firestones. On 10, heroic Beth'tilac, only 1 regular loot dropped, alongside with the firestone and all that legendary crap of course lol.

Happened to our guild as well... Previous to this week, we would get 2 pieces of loot from Shannox as well as a Crystalized Firestone... This week however, we only got one piece of loot (the staff that is dropped by multiple bosses) and one firestone.

It seems like the shared boss loot is seperate from the firestones, just got the shared sword, 1 piece of normal loot + a firestone.

A week or 2 ago Pre-nerf we had this issue on Majordomo. A firestone dropped and it replaced a piece of loot. So we got 1x Tier, 1x Loot, 1x Firestone.

Sent in a ticket and Blizzard refused to do anything.

Last night we killed Majordomo and it acted just like any other time we received a firestone. 1x tier 2x loot 1x firestone.

You are all forgetting the Firestone hotfix from several weeks ago. Originally Firestones only dropped as an additional piece of loot with a very low chance. After the hotfix several weeks ago they added Firestones to the pool of items (weapons) that has a random chance to drop from any boss, and which replaces a piece of loot. So now there are two chances to get a Firestone, one where it replaces a piece of loot and the other where it is an additional drop.

We're still waiting on our 2nd. Not so much fun considering we're a 25m guild. We're close to sharding heroic loot, so I don't really remind if it replaces some there. Not liek the stones will go to waste!

We've gotten 2 stones ever in the multiple H kills we've had which sucks considering we have no leather wearers in raid and all we get to drop are leather pieces and matrix restabilizers We HAVE been getting a fair amount of the shared loot pool though.. sadface @ RNG

Ouch, we have been getting quite a few firestones recently but terrible drops on actual items, so much leather agility gear and daggers gone to waste.
