Thief and Engineers will dominate population?

Hello again..I read forums here and there and from what I get so far is that 90% of the people will go either thief or Engineer...I am one of them also I think about making a thief...first I wanted to do guardian cause I like shields generaly but after I saw some videos I think I ll go with thief :P..how this will impact the game?

I know I don't have a valid proof that this will happen, but this is the feeling I get from all forums I watch lately...

I think that due to the lack of the trinity tank/heal/dps it won't have any major impact and developers have stated that every dungeon can be complete by 5 thiefs for example...but for me it will have 2 negative effects :

1)It will be weird to see 9/10 people are thiefs or engineers

2)Dungeons drops will be a problem cause there will be huge competition on Thief/Enginner gear..

    what do you believe?
The trick of selling a FFA-PvP MMO is creating the illusion among gankers that they are respectable fighters while protecting them from respectable fights, as their less skilled half would be massacred and quit instead of “HTFU” as they claim.

Not sure what to say to that except I’ll be playing a Necromancer.

    I just got pawned now

nevermind...I still think from what I ve read on others forums that thiefs/engineers will dominate but maybe 90% was too much..

Doesn't matter what you will play, I'll play mesmer and twist your abilities against you.

    Just like in GW1!

Statistics don't lie. And with a sample of 2000, the error is negligibly small. Maybe thieves and engineers just post more posts.

I don't know very many people who want to play engineers, and only a handful who want to play thieves.
I actually really can't determine what I would guess the majority would be unless I look at those polls that were posted. I think that there will be a decent variety because all the classes are neat. =)

Funny, I've noticed that the Thief and Engineer seem to be the least popular classes at the moment, while the Guardian is all the rage. I think you'll see a good distribution in the end, the popularity of classes seems to rise and fall with what new information/videos come out. For example, Elementalist after the ANet vs. Boon Control PvP, and every single class after their reveal. Prediction: when the Mesmer is revealed, we will have undeniable proof that 50% of the community will play a Mesmer!

Can't believe no one has adDressed this yet. There won't be loot drops in dungeons like you see in WoW, where the boss drops 3 pcs of random gear from the boss's loot pool. When you beat a boss, everyone gets a piece of gear, wether they are warriors or elementalists. You get your choice of loot from whatever the boss drops that you can use as a thief. So there will not be random rolls or anything like that.. the game doesn't promote competition or hostility between player outside of organized PVP.

As for the gear... it wont be competition for it... everyone gets their own loot, which i believe you get points per boss kill (or maybe it's when you complete the instance..), which you can then use to go buy weps and armor.... sooooooo it doesn't matter WHAT you bring so long as you complete the instance =D

I have zero interest in playing a thief and only slightly more interested in an engineer. Probably going to be a Guardian, though if the playstyle of the last profession fits my ideas of a fun ranged class I might go for that instead.

My main will definitely be an Elementalist but I have been considering making a Engineer or Ranger alt. Engineer looks cool with their med packs and what has been released of the types of weapons they are going to get. As long as they get some nice forms of control and the turrets aren't really underpowered.

If you look at my thread (What Class will you play?) there's a pretty equal number of people playing all classes. Engineer being the least chosen. And Theif being most chosen.

Thief and Engineer are likely to be my last few classes that I play... Ranger, Warrior, Guardian, 8th Profession then maybe Ele...

I am in awe! that is fantastic really!no more ninja loot, no more RNG in progression of character..just one question though...I heard dungeons in cap level will be three..if you can get every piece of gear from every boss then why to go and do it again?I know for fun or help guildies friends but is there any other profit from complete dungeons in end content?

For the other part I am obviously wrong about thiefs and engineers and maybe as someone said they post more on forums :P

I'm just like one of five people I've seen here that will be an Engineer mainly. Honestly I like seeing few people play them, makes for me to look awesome when I pwn stuff! :P

The whole "I only run this for the rewards I get" is a EQ/WoW Mindset that shouldn't apply to why you do them in GW2. The only thing you'll get out of finnishing Exploration mode dungons will be vanity differences. So, gear that is on the same power level but has different looks. And, there might be more than one piece per boss that you're intrested in, we don't know that.
