My new computer, if only there wasn't custom charges..

So i had some great advice from a guy here on MMO who built me up a couple of machines but the problem is that because i live in canada the custom charges for me to have the machine shipped here are ridiculous

Below is the computer he put together for me:

    Intel P67 Core i5/i7 Configurator

Case 1 x CoolerMaster Storm Enforcer Gaming Case-Black

    Processor 1 x Intel® Core™ i5-2500K Processor (4x 3.30GHz/6MB L3 Cache)-

Processor Cooling 1 x Liquid CPU Cooling System [SOCKET-1155]-[Free Upgrade] Standard 120mm Fan

    Memory 1 x 8 GB [2 GB X4] DDR3-1600 Memory Module-Corsair or Major Brand

    Video Card 1 x NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 Ti - 1GB - EVGA Superclocked - Core: 900MHz-Single Card

    Motherboard 1 x Gigabyte GA-P67A-D3-B3-

    Power Supply 1 x 650 Watt -- Corsair CMPSU-650TXV2-

    Primary Hard Drive 1 x 1 TB HARD DRIVE -- 32M Cache, 7200 RPM, 6.0Gb/s-Single Drive

    Optical Drive 1 x 24X Dual Format/Double Layer DVD±R/±RW + CD-R/RW Drive

Sound Card 1 x 3D Premium Surround Sound Onboard-

Network Card 1 x Killer Xeno Pro Gaming Network Card-

Operating System 1 x Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium + Office Starter 2010 (Includes basic versions of Word and Excel)-64-Bit

Warranty 1 x Standard Warranty Service-Standard 3-Year Limited Warranty + Lifetime Technical Support

Rush Service 1 x Rush Service Fee (not shipping fee)-No Rush Service, Estimate Ship Out in 5~10 Business Days

Subtotal* $1139.00 (plus tax & shipping)

Like i said im very pleased about the computer and i really want it! Its just because its going to cost so much in custom fees it really wouldn't be worth me buying it from this site. If someone knows a Canadian site where i can order a computer similar to this one i would be very grateful!

You can get parts from newegg/tigerdirect/ncix and build it few hundred cheaper without extras like the unnecessary network card.
Never going to log into this garbage forum again as long as calling obvious troll obvious troll is the easiest way to get banned.
    Trolling should be.

Im not great with computers, neither are people i know, so would like it to come pre-built haha. Would you happen to know any sites that would build it and not have a whole bunch of custom charges involved?

NCIX has decent pre-built customization on their site. Definitely worth a look.

Most of the time, customs fees aren't much more than the sales tax in your home province, which you're going to have to pay from a Canadian e-tailer anyway.

Ill take a look alittle later on for sure.

Maybe you can help me Skelly. I haven't lived in Canada that long, maybe alittle under a year, and am quite confused when it comes to the custom charges. I gave the UPS customer service line a call as they do the delivery for iBuyPower and they were telling me alot of fees over the phone.. I figured it was going to cost me around $200 or so in custom fees which i personally thought was insane. Is it always with bad with the fees or? I live in Alberta, Canada btw.

Ask a local shop what they charge for building a computer with you supplying the components (or if they even do it) and then give them the list (which you might wanna modify alittle)

Well if you were to bring the thing over the border yourself, the customs fees would be the sales tax in your province, times what you paid for it. So 1139*.05 = $57. But if you order online, a brokerage has to do it for you, and they charge for that, and the eventual price can be somewhat unpredictable.

You're probably better off going with the pc builder on NCIX.com
They're my favorite Canadian computer store. Really reliable, well priced, and they will price match any other Canadian e-tailer, so use shopbot.ca to find lower prices elsewhere.

I think with NCIX you can also add all the different parts you want to your cart, and get them to assemble it for $50.
