Battle.net / Real ID Problem. PLEASE HELP!

Okay so both me and my friend (both from same country and whatnot) got Diablo 3 today. When we logged in after installing it and so on, we couldn't see eachother online on Battle.net / Real ID or whatever you feel like calling it. We can both see eachother in the Battle.net-real ID-friend list but it says that we're both online, even though we are online, so we tried to log on to Starcraft 2 and WoW to see if we had the same problem. Nope. We could both see eachother online and talk to eachother and so forth, but not in Diablo 3. We tried everything, removing from the friend list and re-adding and restarting the game and reading on the internet and adding through Email and Battletag but nothing worked, We literally tried everything except re-installing the game but that surely can't help.

So, Does anyone know how to fix this? Anyone with the same issue? Please help, because it's really frustrating to wait for a game for years and not be able to play it with the one friend you planned on playing it all day and night.

    Thanks in advance

(I can see some of my friends online, Playing Diablo 3, but some not, including this one friend that I am talking about)

I hear there were something like 10 million copies sold, there are going to be some growing pains this week. I doubt there is anything wrong on your end.

Make sure you are both playing in the same region. Options, Account, Select region.

At this time the login service is broken on EU servers due to overload of concurrent connections. I am suprised they didn't bring any additional ones online to help out with the extra load this 1st week.

Nah I understand the negative reviews about not being able to play offline for what is essentially a single player game for the most part.
