Is there any way to make my f**king head sweat less?

    Hey all,

I'm suffering from what seems like a very annoying, embarrassing, and unsightly problem - I sweat in the face. A lot. For example, I was at a work function today that had no air conditioning (it's like 90 degrees and humid in there). Most of the people might have had a little sweat on their face or something, but I literally had to excuse myself from the event to go in the bathroom and stop the sweat from dripping all over my dress shirt and down my face for about 20 minutes.

Now, I'm a bigger guy - though I haven't always been overweight. Even when I was thinner I dealt with the exact same problem to the exact same extent as now. Whenever I go out to the club I can't even enjoy myself because of constant sweat. Same goes for pretty much any event where it's above 70 degrees. I even managed to sweat through a shirt while in an air conditioned museum for a networking event.

I want to say that it doesn't affect my self-confidence, but it does quite severely. It seems like a vicious cycle of sweating --> worrying that people will notice how much I sweat --> sweating more --> etc. It really seems to severely impact my quality of life, and I'm wondering if any of you know anything I can do about it?

Like, I would honestly give up a lot to have just one night where I could go out to a bar, go out dancing, and hang out at a party or gathering with friends without sweating. I've been like this my entire life. I'm beginning to think I need to move somewhere where it never gets above 65 degrees at any point in the year..

From what I know theres nothing really that you can do yourself.
Closest thing I know of is some type of collagen ingection to your face every 6 months or so and that will just improve it but not fix it completely.

The only way to stop yourself from sweating would be to set your face on fire and melt your sweat glands shut (highly not recommended). Other than moving to a colder place, of course.

On the other hand, there is nothing wrong with sweating as it isn't some oddball thing that only freaks do. It's the bodies natural way of cooling itself off (homeostasis) when it get hot, and everyone gets hot.
These aren't the spoilers you're looking for.

    Move along.

I don't know any recipes exactly for that, but here's what you can do. First, take some light depressant medicine, like valerian extract. That will help with the nervous thing, so you'll be more relaxed and self-confident. Try various medicines as some may work better for you than others (not multiple at once, but try other ones if the current isn't helping much). Secondly, if you're sweating due to temperature, try to cool yourself down a bit - drink cold beverages and go to the restroom to wash your face and forearms with cold water. Head and forearms are one of the most used body parts to give away excessive body heat, but you don't want to pour really cold water on your head as it's not good for you. However letting cold water cool off your forearms is a really good way to quickly and safely reduce body temperature.

For example, at the event today I went and ran my hands under cold water in the bathroom yet continued to sweat for like 10 minutes with hands under cold water. I guess it's just something I'll have to live with, and not everyone gets the luxury of being able to go to the club and not stand out like a sweaty sore thumb.

Botox if you are really serious about fixing it. It will require you to redo it as the years go on though. I have heard of ppl having their palms botoxed if they shake hands at work all the time and have clammy hands.

Put something cold on the sides of your neck or if you can only get your hands then get the veins on your wrists you will cool down much faster then getting your hands. If you are drinking something cold hold it against the inside of your wrist you should notice a change fairly soon.

You might be a little more prone to sweating than I think, but judging by myself if it's very hot and I'm nervous and I'm sweating, then the first thing I need to do is calm down, otherwise it's all futile. I've found the best way is to change scenery, go out where it's not as hot or crowded and SIT DOWN. Think of something different, read something, relax. When your pulse slows down, try not to lose that state, don't rush, don't run, don't take the stairs if possible, avoid sugar and caffeine, avoid getting nervous and cool your forearms to fight heat. To me it's more about being nervous than anything really. Also I think aerobics or jogging should make your body more resilient to such things as it'll get used to increased movement and won't accelerate your heartbeat any time you have to rush.

Also by "hands" do you mean palms? The better way is to cool the hands all the way up to elbows, that's the trick.

A sweatband or hat is out of the question?

I sweat from the face a lot also. And I'm not a "bigger guy" at all, nor unhealthy. I've just learned to deal with it. On hotter days, like today (95 F and very humid), I carry a light cloth in my pocket to wipe off. That's about all I can do. When I get a chance, I run cold water over my wrists (after washing my hands in the bathroom, for example).

Put paint on your head then you can not sweat!
This works but I do not suggest it, it is unhealthy.

Sweatband helps. I use one at work. But it doesn't fix the sweat on my nose or cheeks.

I do not suffer from your condition so I haven't tried any of this, but I did some Google searching for you. A lot of these are pretty simple home remedies so no harm to it and no great expense:

    http://sweatsolver.com/sweat-stoppin...face-sweating/

    Info taken from site:

Honey and Apple Cider vinegar: The proportion which needs to be mixed is two teaspoons of apple cider vinegar with two teaspoons on organic, raw honey. Just consume this simple formula on empty stomach thrice a day, possibly half hour before or after any meal

Liquid chlorophyll and Sage Fluid Extract: Mix one milliliters of sage extract and one teaspoon of liquid chlorophyll with your favorite fruit juice. Can also try applying directly to face.

Tomato juice: Regular regimen of drinking freshly grated tomato juice.

Maxim Wipes: These work but you should consider them after you've tried the cheaper, natural remedies because who knows what's in them. Maxim wipes are made especially as a cure for excessive facial sweating. It’s made by a company in UK and easily available if you search online.

    From site:

Witch Hazel - Witch hazel extract can be bought at most health food stores, drugstores or grocery stores. It's derived from the plant’s bark, twigs and leaves. Witch hazel has natural astringent properties so it gently dries the skin and also inhibits inflammation. It dries up oily skin, reduces the appearance of pores and acts as a natural antiperspirant for you face. Start with a thin application layer.

Aloe Vera Juice - This is a more watered down version of the popular aloe vera sold as a moisturizer. When applied to the skin, aloe vera has a nice cooling effect. This makes it particularly useful during warmer seasons like summer or spring. However, if your excessive sweating is triggered not by temperature but by hyperhidrosis (a condition of excessive sweating not matter what temperature it is), you may find your results to be more short term.

Person who posted suffered from hyperhidrosis which is why this treatment was just a bit less effective for them. Aloe vera worked great as a temporary fix (prevents sweating for about 2 or 3 hours). Their conclusion? If you have a hot date or an upcoming business meeting and you need to keep your complexion dry, aloe vera is a great quick fix.

    Surgical option:

    http://www.hyperhidrosis-usa.com/facial_sweating.html - ETS Surgery
http://www.hyperhidrosiscumc.com/side.html - ETS Surgery Side Effects

Note I'm not promoting the sweatsolver paid product, just the natural remedies suggested such as apple cider vinegar and honey.

I'm so sorry your condition has you down - hang in there!

Take your temperature during one of the instances. A chronic fever can cause excess sweating. Stuff like Lyme disease and other conditions cause said chronic fevers.

Works great, but might be more embarassing than a little sweat at your next committee meeting.

I am a super sweater myself. All I can do is plan ahead and try to keep something to dry off with in my pocket. My dad sweats a ton too. He swears that it is a biological trait of southerners.

    Go to a dermatologist.

He/She'll be able to help you better than we would.
Also, if it is as you're saying, it seems like an actual problem, you may want to get it checked out.
