    Considering Buying First Laptop

Hey MMoC, let me preface this post by stating very clearly: I am hardware illiterate!

I've recently decided to purchase a laptop as it has become increasingly annoying taking programming classes and gaming with only a desktop at home. I know laptops are typically far less accepting of upgrades, though I am unsure of the extent to which that is true. I'm hoping to at least maintain my current desktops quality:

    NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460
    Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 950 @ 3.07GHz (8CPUs), ~3.1GHz
    6GB RAM

If you need anything else, just give a heads up.

I can run WoW ultra and maintain ~50-60fps in raids, though a little worse wouldn't be the end of the world. Looking for around $1000 - $1300 if possible, I could go a few hundred higher if it's going to last awhile. Again, i'm a window-licker when it comes to this kind of thing, so thanks in advance!

Edit: These are a few I was looking at, that is, until I realized I had no idea what I was looking at!

This might do the job. I'd prefer a single GPU but it seems that it gives a decent bang for your buck.

It seems that the 750M SLi matches 560 Ti in peformance.

I personally like single GPU's over SLI, SLI has been shown to be finicky sometimes

In that case, I'd suggest something like (add www)xoticpc.com/sager-np8235-clevo-p151sm1-p-5840.html

Yup, that Clevo is better than anything linked so far. 770M pretty much matches 750M SLi.

What is the significance of single CPU over SLI? Assuming its completely graphics related.

Not all games support two graphics cards properly, and in some cases it causes major issues.

In addition it consumes more power, resulting in shorter battery life and more heat. There is also another component which can fail.
