Not accepting keys, not giving keys, preorders gone wrong, customer support that can't speak english, using french as native language on the client/website with no possible way to change it to dutch or english...should I go on.

Sort of glad DS3 toned it down a bit. But also sort of sad.
All I wanted was DS 1-2 with coop, insted they turned it into a generic shooter with some monsters now and then. Not sure why game devs always change game mechanics when introducing coop insted of sticking to the core and just adding a coop function as a bonus.

Its EA, them even offering things for free is not something id expect, the last time i saw them doing something like this was with the dreadful simcity launch, and even then it was only valid to costumers that already gave them money.

People getting free shit and still complain about what they are getting is just sad as well.

Why can't they make Origin not suck? I mean, don't they want to earn money? I don't get it...

They buggered up a promotion and accidentally gave away free games before. They also put a lot of games into a Humble Bundle and didn't claim a share (it all went to charity and Humble). Combining that, this and the Origin money-back guarantee I'd say EA are probably one of the most consumer-friendly publishers around, they just need to get a bit of a tighter reign on their developers.

It's a case of your-mileage-may-vary; I've never had an issue with Origin but had tonnes of problems with Steam, other people report the opposite.

i guess our opinions are tainted by our personal experiences. I have never ever had any issue with origin. The same thing cannot be said with steam and uplay. I am not dispensing a judgement positive or negative on EA as a whole, but origin as a launcher just works for me. I never had a problem activating a product.

On steam, i have had issue with steam purchasing, activating, and downloading during the summer sales. I guess it's understandable that during these days, valve server have a heavy traffic to deal with.

As for the language problem, i have no idea what you are talking about. I am french but i prefer my game in english. So my steam/origin/uplayand my game are all installed in english. You go to the preference and change the launcher language, problem solved. If anything, EA being an american company, i would assume the default language is english, not french.

but yes, by all mean, go on.

    Sellout.

I on the other hand want nothing to do with EA, and even a free game isn't going to get me to install Origin.
