WORLD OF WARCRAFT: THE FALLEN TITAN
Somehow the spirit of the Fallen Titan, Sargeras has retrieved his colossal body and has located Azeroth. With his lieutenants Archimonde and Kil’Jaeden slain, Sargeras has decided to launch his final assault himself, attempting to crush Azeroth with his bare hands. How can the heroes of Azeroth hope even to scratch this immortal enemy? The answer is simple. From the inside out.
Warcraft: Chronicle described the Titans as beings born from planets, made of stone with mountainous landscapes across their bodies. But no one knows what the inner biology of a Titan.
This expansion will come a few after expansions Legion, after we have defeated most of the Legion’s forces on Azeroth and Argus (and probably had an expansion or 2 break from demons). During the pre-patch, Sargeras will appear as a feint silhouette floating in the skyboxes of every Azeroth zone. Throughout the expansion with each patch he will grow larger as he approaches until he dominates the skybox.
The Zones:
1 – The Exodar (ALLIANCE CAPITAL)
The Exodar is the space-faring vessel the Draenei used to flee the Legion for thousands of years until it crash landed on Azeroth. There it acted as the Draenei's capital city. Over the years, the Draenei managed to repair their ship and it was able to take to flight once more. The Alliance use the Exodar to sneak up on Sargeras as he approaches Azeroth and use it as their main hub throughout the campaign of World of Warcraft: The Dark Titan.
2 – Stolen Legion Transport Ship (HORDE CAPITAL)
A Legion transport ship that the Horde hijacked during their campaigns against the Legion. The Horde have re-purposed the ship, and use it to sneak up on Sargeras as he approaches Azeroth. It’s where the Horde questing experience starts and acts as the Horde’s main city hub for the expansion.
3 / 4 – The Right / Left Leg of Sargeras (LEVEL XX0 - XX2)
Two similar twin zones in which Alliance and the Horde start their campaign. Players enter Sargeras through gaps in his heels and progress up through his legs. These zones are linear and cavernous with cave-like walls and ceilings much like Deepholm. The legs are dark and mysterious, infested with all manner of demons who have set up in the caverns. The Alliance and the Horde fight their way through the zones, slaying the demons in the way as they attempt to get through to the Titan's main body and set up a foothold (no pun intended) inside.
5 – Belly of the Beast (LEVEL XX2 - XX5)
A giant continent that sits within Sargeras’ belly. Although it is inside his body like the legs, the “ceiling” of this chamber is very high and spacious. The land is living stone and metal and is spotted with and surrounded by rivers and lakes of corrosive liquid – the bile of a hateful Titan. Once maintained by Titan constructs, this zone has been overrun by a parasitic species of alien insects called the Tik’atha that have infested the body of Sargeras. Destroyed and desecrated Titan technology litters the land. The Tik’atha are microscopic in comparison to Sargeras and live inside his belly, living off the Titan himself without him knowing. Most of the Tik’atha are hostile to players but there is a faction that the players ally with to help take down the Titan.
6 – The Titan’s Wing (LEVEL XX5 - XX8)
This zone is inside the chest and shoulder. Here, huge and complex Titan constructs battle endlessly with demons of the Legion. The constructs were created by the Titans as a way of maintaining their inner-workings, and as an internal defense matrix from infection. Although the parasites have defeated them in the stomach, there is a force of Titanforged who still fight in the chest, a last bastion attempting to stave off the demons who have overtaken the rest of the Titan’s body. While players team up with the Titanforged at first in order to clear the demons from the area, the players end up attempting to shut down Sargeras’ left wing from within in order to slow his approach. This leads to the Titanforged turning on the players as they are programmed to fight to keep Sargeras alive.
7 – The Chest of Sargeras (LEVEL XX8 - XY0)
Finally, the last questing zone at launch takes players to the exterior of the Titan. Players fight across Sargeras’ chest, a firey and volcanic zone. Huge lakes and streams of lava cover the desolate and rocky land as giant volcanoes erupt constantly. Sargeras’ flaming mane can be seen on one of the horizons and Azeroth floats in the sky. Legions of demons roam the skin of Sargeras that the players must fight off as they fight down their way down into the valley between his pectorals. Here, the players find a cave guarded by demon-corrupted Titanforged. A cave that leads into the Heart of Sargeras itself.
8 - The Fallen Skull (LEVEL XY0)
A continent introduced in a content patch of the expansion, the Fallen Skull is a place for max level players where they do dailies and other content. This zone also homes the Titan's brain, which is the raid instance of the patch.
(EXAMPLES OF) The Instances:
9 – Sargeras’ Stomach
One of the launch 5-man dungeons of the expansion that the players come across when leveling through the Belly of the Beast. Players must navigate across small pieces of land floating on a lake of bubbling corrosive stomach acid as they fight all matters of alien creatures. This is where the beasts consumed by Sargeras from the numerous worlds invaded by the Legion reside. Players fight through a menagerie of powerful and strange creatures and kill the leader of the enemy Tik’atha as the final boss.
10 – The Reaching Hand
The Reaching Hand is another launch 5-man dungeon. While leveling through The Titan’s Wing zone, players are teleported to the back of Sargeras’ hand. An external instance zone, players fight along the gauntlet and defeat the demons that defend it as they escort Titan constructs that have been infested and turned by their allied Tik’atha. The reappropriated Titanforge’s goals are to interface with and disable Sargeras’ colossal fingers before he can grasp Azeroth. All the while, Sargeras is attempting to shake players off (much in the same way as the Spine of Deathwing fight).
11 – The Titanheart
After the events of the Chest of Sargeras zone, players make their way into the very heart of the Titan. This is the first raid instance that players will progress through at the expansions launch. Surprisingly, the Titanheart is an entirely pristine and untouched area of Titan technology. Even the parasites and demons know not to interfere with what keeps their host body running. Players fight their way through metal halls of immense magic that has been enhanced with Titan magic. They must defeat armies of Titanforged and their bosses in order to make their way to the Titan’s beating heart and destroy it in hopes that it will kill the Titan.
12 – The Mind of Madness
The second raid instance that players with progress through in the expansion after the Titanheart. When destroying Sargeras’ heart isn’t enough to stop him, the Tik’atha take players to his very brain. Sargeras’ brain is a labyrinth of insanity. An M.C. Escher-esque maze of impossible physiology and architecture. In this raid, players see into the memories of Sargeras. They are transported to planets that Sargeras and his legion destroyed where they fight twisted memories of the alien species that the Legion wiped out. Finally, for the last boss in the raid, Players fight an image of Sargeras himself as they attempt to destroy his very mind.
(EXAMPLES OF) PvP Content:
13 - Rib Peninsula
A PvP zone in which the Horde and the Alliance battle for control of a valuable resource that the Tik'atha are mining from the Titan's ribs. Sargeras' bone marrow is infused with the unfathomable energy of the Titans and is an invaluable resource to the forces of Azeroth... if they can put their differences aside long enough.
