Patch 3.2

I know there is something about the theories on the Colliseum event as a thread and there is possibly some whine thread that I cba to look for it.

What I think is that since the Colliseum currently does not feel very 'lore like' due to Blizzard said: every major patch we want to expand on the Arthas storyline, and let's face it, this currently does not have any major characters that we know of lined up, however, as stated in the theories thread of what could happen, there is potential... What I think as my own theory is that the Colliseum will be just that Ring of Blood concept of maybe 5 bosses which maybe 4 are random of maybe a pool of 9 bosses and then the 5th and final boss will always be the same and something maybe big in Northrend lore.

Now what I really wanted to add in mostly, is that I think Blizzard still has another secret raid instance lined up and they only thrown this at us to stop us from guessing, because come on let's face it... sure this was 'secret' at the time, not many people guessed that the Argent Tournament would be in fact a raid instance that fills up the whole patch, nearly everyone that did guess pretty much thought it would be maybe a quick encounter like EoE.

I believe, and maybe others are thinking this too, that there will be another raid instance that will be the BIG news that will be in this patch, that will really carry the storyline, or possibly bring us back to the old world. Think of 2 instances you can both progress in at the same time: SSC and TK, Hyjal and BT. Where as I see the Tournament lore is simply getting the 'champions' ready to take on Arthas and Icecrown, but the Argent Tournament can only really bring in bosses they captured or whatever in the outside world or personally trained, unless as already mentioned in the theory thread by 1 person (since I last checked it) was that Arthas appears and turns the instance into a Nerubian tunnel that connects to another instance, which is cool.

So for those TLDR people: I am guessing that the Colliseum is only part of the next major patch and there will be another big 'lore' instance to be announced in a couple of months, maybe Blizzcon.

I hope there will be some nice raid instance and not (only) arena boss style. Will wait for some more announcements before I get torch and pitchforks though.

They do usually show what is to come or whatever at a Blizzcon during the encounter section of the event or whatever. They will probably show a trailer as well, like the one we saw before WOTLK was released with the 2 people walking through the area, like the one when SWP was opened showing Kael and what happened to his people etc etc, just really wondering what could it show in the trailer really xD

No way. They will show the big trailer at Blizzcon and they will show the big changes to the public at Blizzcon. 3.2 realease is 2 months later.

As 3.2 isn't on the PTR yet (and they still seem to be a ways away from that), don't expect it before BlizzCon.

1 thing I haven't really seen mentioned yet.

Patch 3.2 brings with it season 7. Now they have ALWAYS kept PvE and PvP gear in sync ilvl wise.

This can only mean 3.2 brings tier 9 with it.

With this in mind it's looking quite likely that icecrown will go all sunwell and have the boots+belt+bracer pieces for the tier set and imba off-set pieces? The last bit here is a bit of a leap but it definitely seems plausible.

Also they are unlikely to release half a tier set (so only say gloves and legs) leaving the rest to 3.3 so either Colusieum instance is WAY more than they are letting on or there IS a further unannounced instance that will ship with 3.2. Full tier gear going by previous milesticks has always been on around 10 bosses which I don't see a simple Gruul/Archimonde/Sarth/Mally style instance bringing.

There is also the matter of the warring dragons and the 2 instance portals that are being channeled in the chamber of aspects under Wyrmrest. I think there is AT LEAST 1 ace up the sleeve with 3.2. So far they have things the right way around, the bar was set low with Naxx, Ulduar is an improvement and one of the best instances they have done. To drop it all now seems kinda dumb and despite what many trolls and qqing children seem to think Blizz on the "big picture" side of things are generally relatively close to the mark.

In keeping with general convention (tho maybe not so needed this time as they have gone full bore with the 10/25 man progression path) there's yet to be the random troll instance also. The big temple at the end of Zul'drak is kinda sat there doing nothing at the moment.

There's an awful lot of available threads/plots to make instances from. Personally I think 3.2 comes with a second unannounced instance. I'm hanging a lot off the season 7 release but seriously that's just sat there waiting for someone to spot it. They're plotting something.

Would be very surprising if it didn't come one way or the other. It's just too deeply woven into northrend lore for anyone who quested in zul'drak.

As for lack of major characters, the biggest bloody mystery in the entire world stands unresolved.

Maelstrom is almost certainly the next expansion, so it won't be 3.2.

I agree. The coliseum will be a series of Ring of Blood style fights for 5, 10 and 25 players. It will probably scale to gear (like ZA) so Naxx players can do it too but not get as good gear.

There'll be another raid for sure, perhaps Zul-drak keep where there's a three way battle going on between the Trolls, Scourge and You.
