Frost Mage vs. BM Hunter

gotta say when i see a bm hunter i almost give it quits or just try to LOS while he's sunken into trying to kill me while my partner(s) try and kill him so i dont get bursted down and even so with the pet alone on me, beofe the hunter dies from running around, disengaging, and putting down traps, as much as i want to blink and IB the pet usually ends up killing me (yes i do keep frost shield and sometimes mana shield if i have alot of mana).

Just wanted to know a simple strat for killing a BM hunter or a hunter in general. tyvm

I cannot remember the last time I saw a BM hunter.

The game is not balanced around 1v1 and I hope it never is.

Hunters are rough for mages, all of them, not just BM. They have been since vanilla. I remember back in the day getting tagged with combos like 2400 aimed, 1300 multi, 1200 auto against my lvl 60 ass with like 3400hp wearing the full PVP set. Dead in 1 gcd from full while stuck in a trap

Back to "real" WoW... For 1v1 with no LOS you are probably going to get fucked if you can't stay on top of them. 1 thing to keep in mind is that they can't heal; all of the damage you deal is permanent. Chances are he's going to trinket your 1st stun (get that off before he wraths). Then, he'll wrath. Iceblock through the wrath and LOS if at all possible. You are going to have to get ice barrier up asap so that it will be ready asap and you'll probably want to add in a mana shield as well just to help soak up some more of the damage, its a rough DPS race. Watch for master's call - he's immune to snares during that time. Watch for deterance, he cant attack during that so use that time to close and then start winding up a frostbolt or FFB. MI is a must to try and keep him snared (keep in mind that the CoC snare will overwrite all of your other snares). Make sure that you don't frost nova while he is rooted from a shattered barrier (try and space them out so you get the max amount of time in nova). So between 3-4 frost barriers + a mana shield (depending on the situation) you should be able to burn him down before he gets you. Note: before you block during his bestial wrath try and use all your short defensive cooldowns before hand (blink at him to gain ground, refresh ice barrier) because the time that you're in the block you'll be waiting for those to refresh.

For arena... you have LOS and a partner, utilize as needed.

also iceblock during BW is common sense or it should be but mirror images can give you some time for free casts while he tries to find you after he does just iceblock with cold snap....

in 3v3 bm is a solid spec not cause its damage or cc but its ms and unccability. lol

If its 1v1 or he isn't getting healed, summon WE and use the pet nova+frost nova and icelance spam to force the hunter to spend beast within. Sit in iceblock for full duration and then just refresh barrier, activate icy veins and spam the hunter down with frostbolts.

Works only, if you aren't undergeared though and the hunter doesn't get healed.

That is roughly what i do and no 1v1 accomplishment, only time i've beaten hunters is in bg's and arena but never in a duel. My IB simply wont last through the Wrath and i cannot blink + invisible because im usually stuck with a poison on me, also to mention if my 3300 shield is destroyed almost off the bat then im intimidated, even I trinket out of it my 19000 hp will be gone in about 2GCD's so with that im almost forced to pre IB and right after then im thrown down with a wrath if the hunter hans't already meaning i gotta kite around for the IB debuff to go away to do it again, keepng up bubble is essential but i always try not to use mana shield since vs hunter ill be already drained of mana, even w/ my 2-piece bonus from T7, when i use my gems the hunter will definately win the mana game before he needs to switch to AotV. Keeping him rooted is roughly impossible because of the low CD on Wrath and is usually popped w=right off the bat.

I roll Mage/rogue so him using right away means no CC'ing and when i do ill have a pet up in my face who i can never get away from and my rogue partner cannot CC him meaning for Hunter/Resto druid teams are close to impossible, only once have we beat that combo.
