Leveling In BG's

Hey guys,

I have decided to level my shaman from 76-80 in BG's because lava burst is just so fun. So my question is, what gives you the most leveling EXP in BG's? Is it HK's or objectives etc?

I lvl'ed my shaman (resto) from 70 to 80 doing random dungeons, to save some emblems already and I was able to find groups fast because I was resto, and I was doing BG's inbetween. I have done mainly Alterac Valley, a win would give me 4 to 5% of my XP I think, it depends on how many towers are down and if you have killed Balinda you get bonus xp/honor. I would recommand AV only, but for the sake of variation and not to get too bored you could do some other bg's as well. But they dont give as much xp as AV does, AND probably take longer to win in most cases!!

Hks don't give exp, u only get exp from objectives( Flag caps and winning in WSG u get the equivalent of a flag cap if u lose 0/3 in WSG, while AB u get exp after certain resources ticks, eots is like AB and wsg put together and AV u get from capping bunkers and killing generals ect) and it doesn't compare to questing, its more of a bonus really like at lvl 66 my warr is getting 5k exp every wsg flag cap. But BGs are fun so it doesn't matter plus once ur lvl 66+ its not like u wanna leave the bracket too fast anyways, might as well appreciate the lvl dominance.

I did this for quite a bit to level my Rogue from 70 to 80 when Arathi Basin: Call to Arms was on a couple of weeks ago. It's only really viable to farm the Call to Arms BG if you ask me. I was getting upwards of 100k XP for each AB win, and around 50k for each loss, depending on how quickly the games finished.

As regards XP gain, objectives, such as capturing a base, are the main thing to go for. Honorable kills give hardly any XP.

Do you have to be the one to complete the objectives to earn extra exp? Or is it BG wide for your faction? Obviously not for something like EotS ticks but maybe a flag cap in WSG or something along those lines.

It's all about objectives and winning. I tend to get a lot of xp from the large, objective based battlegrounds, such as AV and IOC.

Im not sure for every BG since I didnt do that many others, but for AV if a tower would be destroyed everyone would get the XP of it. Maybe the person who actually flagged it got a little extra but im not sure about that ^^

just make sure and get in on the kills on the first and last dudes in av.

You do NOT get xp for killing.

What you get xp for is:
Capture flag, in WSG and Arathi basin. Note that once you have recieved XP from capturing Blacksmith in Arathi Basin you cannot get it again. In Warsong Gulch you get a set ammount of XP per flag according to your level.

Taking Towers/ Bunkers in Alterac Valley aswell as killing the other factions generals/warlords.


What you need to know in general about XP through Battle Grounds:
-If you win you automaticly gain XP from all the "objectives" that was in that BG.
Lets say you skip Balinda (alliance general) in alterac valley and you ultimatly win the bg because you focus on bunkers. Then you recieve the xp Bonus for winning the game + the xp from Balinda.

- In WSG if the time has run out and you won 2-1 or something you get the xp from the last flag aswell.

If you lose you only get the xp from finishing a BG round. which is 1/3 of the bonus from what the winning team got, + the XP from other "objectives".

Allways frustrating in low level brackets. 10 people rushing BS in AB at start and when they got it they rush stables/farm and leave BS unguarded and looses 300 pts because they dont know how AB works.
Same goes for Alterac Valley and WSG, 80% of the people stay in the middle killing eachother, respawning and dying over and over and over and OVER again!

Can't wait for the rated BG system that Cataclysm brings TBH.

You get extreme XP for winning the call to arms.

Being in a good battlegroup helps a lot. Alterac Valley has great, if not the best experience gain if you win consecutively.

For leveling, BG's are the SLOWEST form of it. When you spent 25 mins in AB for 5% Experience I could've got 25% questing.
