    Now there's no more reforging?

I'm not really complaining because I don't pay enough attention..but just a speculation.- Every time I look at some blue posts on the front page it seems like blizzard is backing out of some kind of new content they were going to give us..but saying there is tons of the same old new content to give us so it should be ok? like taking away path of the titans and reforging- that type of stuff.. whatcha guys think? once again- not qq..speculation.

I don't really see where you're going with this post, like at all.. But I personally think they are doing it right, they got everyone siked with pumping the blues with ideas, tried them on F&F alpha, obviously they didn't work so now they are retracting it.

    Err

And nothing is final yet, remember that.

Uh...reforging us still there. It is done by a npc in major cities. It is not tied to a profession.
    Pondering returning.

yeah, originally Re-forging was gunna be tied to a profession, so plate/weapons will be done by BS, mail/plate by LW and Cloth by tailors, then JC would do rings/necks and engineering would do trinkets.

now you just pay some random NPC and they'll do it. Which is a much better plan tbh, as at the moment people demand like 100g in tips to craft 264's god knows what they'd charge to reforge stuff :S

It's probobly a quality of life change... but I gotta admit, it would have been great to give our professions and how they define our characters more importance... But in retrospect, it woulda been anoying as all hell searching someone out with every new piece of gear.

Yep, still in there. And it will be a lot cheaper from NPC than it would from me too :-p

Acutaly by all the posts and itervews blues gave on some sites we know that reforging will be in cata. But with one difference wich in my view is much better then before. Anyone will be able to reforge his armor at blacksmith/tailr/leatherworker (those guys where you repair your gear).
So, now evrybody will be able to reforge their armor and not like before only tailor/leatherworker/blacksmith/engineer.

I agree, it does seem like alot of what they said at Blizzcon is being taken back out. Im kinda happy though. It seemed to be bogging down the game alot more than needed. Guild Talents!? Come on, thats just dumb. Medium Runes is alot better idea than Path of the Titans, although the Lore would have been awesome.

Blizz wanted to re-enforce Guilds and now they remove a feature that would require some support from your gulid crafters. Don't get it. Would be nice to reforge and gem & enchant when you get gear and not rely on a mage port and warloc summon to keep things moving

I don't like the mentality that people dislike any kind of bother. Things like teleports, summons, NPC reforging makes things easier but reduces the epic feeling of the game.

They haven't really removed anything, just changed it. Path of the Titans went from yet another thing you have to progress and track to a new set of glyphs. Reforging is still around, but now its done by NPC's in cities rather then by players, so you don't have to spend hours tracking down a high enough level tailor or leatherworker to rip that haste off your new gear and replace it with more int or whatever. Archeology went from a must have and must max profession to a profession that's really only there for fun. Only thing really "gone" is the guild talent tree and that's just them turning the various bonuses you would have specced into into stuff you get with each level. So instead of getting to Guild Level 20 and deciding between putting a point in either cheaper reagents or a raid group teleport, you automatically get it. And that was mostly to avoid guild QQ and allow them to more easily add more bonuses to guilds later on if they wish to.

If you're going where I think you're going (and that's in the direction of "Well what new content are we actually getting for Cata?") then I agree with you. It seems that Cata is going to be the smallest expansion to date. Cata is aimed at new players, that's pretty much the focus this time. Blizzard seems to think that current players are going to stick around for 5 meager levels of content, a pathetically low amount of new dungeons, and 2-4 raids that are nothing but the broken down division of one levels worth of content. In the end, some people will be happy with that small amount of content they'll actually use, but if people sit back and go "I really want more" then Blizzard might be in for a surprise when old subscriptions start dropping off fast. I think Blizzard is banking on Cata being an expansion that draws more new people in then they lose, but judging from the past, that just won't be the case. I think the statistic was something like only 1 in every 1,000 people that tries the game actually makes it past level 10 and keeps playing.

I'm afraid I have to disagree with you on the point that Cata has less content then other expansions or that there is little here for end game people. Yes, Cata only has five 80 to 85 zones compared to Wrath's eight (Crystalsong was never a truly fleshed out zone and thus I don't count it), the level cap is lower, and there are only 12 dungeon/raids planned to be out for release to Wrath's 16 on release day. But if you look at the numbers, the difference isn't all that huge (Only three zones and four more dungeons were in Lich King. They both have they exact same amount of raids on release day).

What's more, Blizzard has already stated Cata has far more content across the whole gambit, not just in end game (Lich King shipped with around 1000 quests. Cata at the moment is planned to ship with around 3000). This will encourage players who haven't already leveled a second or third character to go back and do so now. I for one have always wanted a rogue and a priest character, but after leveling seven characters across both factions already to 80, I just can't do the same content AGAIN. I'm hoping that with the new quests and general streamlining done to the Old World in this expansion I'll be able to enjoy the leveling process and get those lower level characters there.

But if your only real concern, as I believe yours is, is for the end game content, no one has any real clue how that will play out yet. They said they wish to see characters going through all the zones to hit 85 and that the questing process should flow easier then in Wrath, but beyond that there is little known about end game until they NDA is lifted. Infact, the only instance we know much of anything about at the moment is Halls of Origination, the only dungeon currently up on the Cataclysm website. And according to that, the dungeon will have seven bosses, more then any dungeon in Wrath outside of raids.

We can only speak on what we know so far and shouldn't speculate on the state of how much "content" there is until more details are out there. Until then, wait until the NDA is lifted and Beta's start up. Then we'll have a better idea of what to expect.

Or you could spend some time reading the entire post before speculating that the sky is falling.

Reforging is still in - just not part of the professions. And I got that info from just skimming the front page of MMO. Read, learn, speak - in that order, please.
