What should I eat for dinner?

As the title says, what should I eat for dinner?

I'm about to go shopping soon, so I have no requirements for what ingredients can or can't be in it. I hope it's not against the forum rules to ask this, I figured others might get some ideas for their dinner today or another day.

So, gaming community! Post your dinner ideas!

I sure as hell would love some chilli. It takes some time and a bit of cooking knowledge but nothing major too.

    Straw Hat!! Yum, yum!

It can be as simple as Corn chips, a Can of Chili (Hormel with beans! :P) Sour cream, and Shredded cheese with diced Tomatoes. Or, you can add more to it.. Like, 1lb of ground beef, onions, lettuce.. ect. It's kind of like a Taco, but it's soooo delicious! Think of it as layers. Corn chips on bottom, Chili on top, with your Shredded Cheese, lettuce and tomato. Then let the cheese melt, stir it up and enjoy !

Dunno what it's called, but chili con carne with tortilla chips in it. It's SO delicious if you know how to cook it right.

Probably too late for the OP, but...

    Chili con Carne recipe:
(Enough for 3-4 people, or 2 really hungry people)
    Chili Slurry:
    6 Tbsp Chili Powder
    1 ½ tsp cornmeal
    1 tsp unsweetened cocoa powder
    ¼ cup chicken stock

Combine in a small bowl and mix until it forms a paste. Set aside.

    The rest:
    1 medium onion, chopped
1 jalapeno, stemmed and seeded, chopped
    2 medium garlic cloves, minced
½ can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
    1 tsp light molasses
1 ½ pounds beef (stew meat, such as chuck), cut to bite-size cubes
    1 cup chicken stock
½ bottle beer (drink the rest)
    1/2 lime, quartered

Preheat oven to 300 F with rack on lower-middle position.

In an oven-safe pot or dutch oven set to medium-high heat, saute the onion and jalapeno until softened. Add garlic. Add chili slurry, tomatoes, and molasses. Stir. Add remaining chicken stock. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to simmer.

Meanwhile, in a skillet, brown the beef in single-layer batches. Add each batch to the pot/dutch oven as it finishes, along with some of the beer. Stir.

Once the last batch of beef is in, deglaze skillet with a little beer and pour into the pot. Cover the pot and place in oven 1.5-2 hours. Adjust salt to taste.

Serve with lime wedges, corn chips, sour cream or cheese, and, preferably, any extra bottles of beer.

It's relatively mild chili, so go crazy with cayenne or hot sauce if you prefer it hot.

Keeps well. Actually tastes better the 2nd or 3rd day.

If you're not a drinker, non-alcoholic beer works fine.

Might just be because I read it as something that's supposed to be put together, but that sounds like an.. interesting mix?

That's a scaled down version of the recipe I use in my restaurant. I've spent years tweaking it. Enjoy

Pasta, ketchup, parmasan cheese and tuna in oil. Best shit taking the price and cooking time into the equation

Wuttt you put ketchup in your pasta? That's a strange concept to me :S

And yea I realize ketchup is made from tomatoes, but still, I find it strange.

    Quick and easy...

    Also quick and easy:

Garlic, minced (about 1/2 clove per person, or be lazy and use 1/8 tsp garlic powder per person)
1 can crushed tomatoes (size depending on how many people you're serving)
Dried basil, oregano, and ground fennel seed to taste
(Optional) cayenne or red pepper flakes if the tomatoes are too sweet for your tastes
    Salt and pepper to taste
Water, if necessary to thin (best if you use the boiling water from the pasta)
Pasta (2 oz per person is a proper serving)
    Parmesan cheese, grated.

Saute the garlic in a pot with a little cooking oil if using fresh garlic. Add the tomatoes and seasonings (including garlic powder, if using). Bring everything to a simmer, cover. In another pot, boil water and cook pasta. Strain pasta, toss with sauce, put on plate, top with parmesan. Nom.

Also works with meat. Just cook some ground beef or italian sausage in the sauce pot and drain out extra fat before adding the rest of the stuff.

I never really understood why people put cocoa (or dark chocolate) into chilli. I love Chilli myself, I tried it several times and it was either too little so I didn't even feel it or it was too much (for my taste at least) where you actually could taste chocolate in your Chilli . Weird.

Ketchup+pasta is the cheap version of pasta+some tomato sauce in Europe . And fast too. Students often have that.

Yeah, you shouldn't be able to taste it as chocolate. It adds a subtle flavor layer and modifies the texture a little bit (makes it feel more rich/savory in your mouth). Look up recipes for Mole Sauces... almost all will include some cocoa, and this is basically the same concept.

Ew, just ew. I personally hate ketchup, such a vile taste to it. I'm alright with tomato sauce though, lol.

OT: Can't go wrong with noodles in a chicken broth with various spices added in.
