Hilarious voting in the House of Representatives

That is hilarious. Watching them scurry about voting for everyone around them (Which is against there code of conduct, but who cares right?) is just funny. They just scramble around on there chairs, flailing about trying to vote for others before someone else beats them to it!

Democrats voting for republicans, republicans voting for democrats, janitors voting for whoever (Kidding..I hope)

They blame it on not having enough bathroom breaks...lol.

Hah, wow, that is just fucking ridiculous. INTEGRITY?! Excuse me?! GTFO.

So when can I start voting multiple times for the presidential and local elections?

The vagueness of the reporting is to be expected but regrettable. Since it wasn't clarified anywhere, I'm wondering; surely they weren't voting along their own party lines with the other representative's votes right? I mean I'm guessing it was like 'I need to go pee, can you vote No on this issue for me' or something along those lines right? If it's the latter then it's just some technicality that I don't take too much issue with, if it's the former, surely this would have been reported long before now?

This is scary, we live in a Republic not Democracy, meaning We the people vote for a Representative and they vote for us. What this is showing is a COMPLETE disregard of the people and the country how dare they call them selves Americans there nothing but scum
This country, with its institutions, belongs to the people who inhabit it. Whenever they shall grow weary of the existing government, they can exercise their constitutional right of amending it, or their revolutionary right to dismember or overthrow it.

Are people really surprised at this? The government is scum.

Just to add a note since that report was from my local CBS affiliate -- that story originally aired in 2007. I'd like to be able to say that the situation has changed, but "ghost voting" as it's called is still an issue. Sadly, this pretty much reflects the default mode of "stuck on stupid" for the Texas Legislature. Think this is fun? Watch them wrangle over redistricting. I'm glad I'll be able to move out of this state in the not too distant future. Ugh.

What a horrible display of dirty politics.

Though, I had this stuck in my head while watching them move around.

Yes. But it's still against the rules, and apparently quite troublesome to everyone but the legislators themselves.

Colleagues sometimes cast votes on behalf of others when they're out of town. It's just surreal. There's no excuse for it when the situation could so easily be remedied.

This should be a serious federal offense. Someone should spend life in jail over this - not given less than a slap on the wrist. Dirty politics are dirty.

Says right in the video that sometimes they vote for other parties; just not what they actually voted for.

This is downright disgusting. I wouldn't be surprised if similar things happened in the federal house and senate.

It does indeed look like a Benny hill sketch.

This is why the government needs LESS power over peoples lives.

Maybe the lawmakers should SHOW UP AND DO THEIR DAMN JOB. This wouldn't be an issue if they actually attended voting sessions. So we vote for these people (well I'm from Michigan where this probably happens also), they get their nice paychecks, their nice retirement packages, and then they can't even be bothered to show up for massively important votes like requiring id for citizens to vote.

Got to love that government officials are above the laws that they pass. And we have the balls to question how Russia or other countries conduct elections and pass laws lol.

Normally I'd say, thank god I don't live in texas, but the ease at which this is done hints that it is most likely widespread throughout the country
