So yes, this is another tell me which trinkets I should be using thread, and you can't wait to weigh in, I know it.

So here is what I have ATM:
870 Bough of Corruption
875 Swarming Plaguehive
850 Wriggling Sinew

and just to list them because they are in my bag, though I know (do we really actually know anything) they aren't worth using:
850 Unstable Horrorslime
835 Stat stick - 1,073 Int & 882 Haste

Currently I am using Bough and Plaguehive.

Definitely plaguehive for your first slot. Those are some pretty bleak options for your second trinket. Keep the Bough for now and aim to get a shock baton to replace at the very least. Your best bet is farming for a spiked tongue (from mythic+) and unstable arcanocrystal (from the world boss withered j'im).

I would love a shock baton, but for several weeks in a row the "Life Finds a Way" WQ has given gold or resources as a reward.

Tbh, you should farm EoA, Nelth lair and Arcway in mythic+. They all have better options that what you have in the raid other than Plaguehive.

Wriggling Sinew is better than Bough at almost any ilvl. We cannot cheese the proc as well as a fire mage can but the proc damage does scale with Incarnation. If you're lucky enough for it to crit it does a substantial amount of damage (mine crits for 2 million when incarnation is active). It's obviously not a great choice, but the proc will still make up roughly 3-4% of your overall damage which isn't nearly as awful as Bough.

I cant seem to find any information on what they did with it... but im just plain not getting stacks from the trinket. What happened?

Empowerment used to remember your mastery value when you first got a stack of empowerments. As long as you had one, using starsurges only added a stack of that empowerment with that mastery value. Supposedly this has been fixed.

It's been confirmed on US servers. It now averages the mastery value of the empowerment. So if you got an empowerment at 90% mastery (say 10 stacks of the trinket), another at 80% and another at 55%, all 3 empowerments will be snapshot at the average value of 75%.

There's word in mages discord that Xavius trinket was significantly buffed, much more than 10% that patch notes mention, making it almost as good as hive. Gotta test it on moonkin later.

Mind sharing your opinion after testing? I got a 870 one 30 minutes prior to reading this but i am EU and cannot see it for myself until tommorow after work.

Maybe i will finally replace my 845 naraxxas.

Tested 865 ilvl version on PTR. It's still crap, doing about 3% total damage. Maybe it only works for fire mages, like they need more dps, right?

Did you test for dungeons? I think its potential lies in aoe, no?

I have an 880 one and it procs decent enough to use in lower mythic dungeons. When i started doing high mythics killing specific ads is better so I always swap back to Spiked Tongue or 850 Shock Baton.

I don't use it in raids.
