Heroic Halion 25man kill - Protection Pally PoV

It seemed that people have been at least semi-interested in the Retribution PoVs posted so I thought I'd make my kill as a Protection Paladin available here. Quoting Prentice, "Take it at face value. I messed up several times. It was a learning experience. Enjoy." You're still more than welcome to troll though.

Some things you'll notice:

• Ventrilo: Is not included. I stopped saving the Ventrilo files after about pull 100. The kill came on the 237th (yes, that's embarrassing).
• Music: Techno. I rotate through genres in my kills. It was techno's turn.
• Keybinds: 1 through = with modifiers. I play using an n52 so all keybinds are perfectly in reach.
• Resolution: My 22" monitor died on me a few weeks ago so I've ben stuck using an old 17". 1280x1024 sucks when you're used to 1680x1050
• UI: It's cluttered and mostly without addons. 1280x1024 isn't a whole lot of space to work with so I never really bothered filling it up.

I generally raid without any action bars showing and a wide screen resolution makes my multiple text boxes much less intrusive. By cluttered, I just mean I have a lot less open space.

Aura on your alerts someone that they have the debuff.

Even though we had our own DXE module from the beginning, we still found this useful with how frequently combat logs break.

That was pure badass. I wish you could of had vent for that. Vent gets INSANE on Phase 3. 10 heroic was hard enough. Can't imagine 25.

The n52 allows you to setup macros. Instead of binding it's buttons to 1 through =, I bind each one to a macro that fires a key press and key release that will repeat while held for each button. This can also be accomplished by using AutoHotKey. The odd flash you see over the button is from SnowfallKeyPress (which is an amazing addon).

I'm a fan, obviously. We recently had a run in with a hasty GM who decided that our name was no longer appropriate after almost two years of raiding and served a stint in "<Chira's Guild>." Fortunately, we were able to get that worked out and the force name change was reverted.

I used to. However, I'd been spending most of my time raiding as Retribution and Holy the last two months and opted to just cheese it with 6 and 9 macros. I generally would have kept clcret's protection module running but screen space was killing me.

You know when you like use Divine Protection and it says "Bubbel wall UP" or something, then when it actually drops it also leaves a message. I'm quite a newbie when it comes to setting up a macro like that. Mind sharing it?

Two of the Twilight Realm healers were dead with 35s left along with Corporeality being at 60% was pretty scary. But, yeah, a kill is a kill although I was pretty sure we were looking at our fourth sub-1% wipe around minute 7. It also looks a lot prettier since I cut out everyone dying to the Combustion that covered the entire Physical realm right after the kill.

PS. Why in the hell can't my guild heal a warrior tank?

I have my own addon that I just paste random snippets of code into. The alerts to our healer chat are handled by code in that. However, I'm pretty sure Tankadin spams these to yell, although I have not used the addon in a logn time.

Umm, we didn't use a warrior tank on LK until the 25% buff. Outside of that fight, our two MTs were a pally and warrior. We had the warrior play his druid for that fight.

If I was going to comment on the video, the really big thing is that while it appears to be a nice kill, this isn't really a good POV. As a fight as a whole, the tanking perspective is reeeallllly boring. We really don't get to see a lot go on. We don't really see dispells, you don't have to look for orbs because you can just align yourself to be a 90 degree angle with the dps pack, you don't really do anything, it's a pretty lame perspective. If your UI works for you, which I'm sure it does, that's great, but when it comes to video making your UI is reeeeeeeeeeeaaaallllllyyyyyyy unappealing, as in it's very ugly to look at. Grats on the kill though, very clean.

And to the person saying you didn't see the dispelling: guess what his UI would look like with something like decursive? Also I think he has cleanse on a mouseover macro (you can see it in phase 1). In phase 2... Well that tanking job is annoying as hell (turning a boss without moving it's pivot point is harder than it looks).
