Thread: Thermalpaste?

    Thermalpaste?

Any recommendations? I'll be ordering the H100 today, and just in case I fuck up and have to redo the thermal paste I'd like to hear if there's really any rule of thumb to keep in mind.

For buying it. Not for using it. Buying.

Bah, had to pay some bills now and got an unknown span of time with limited money. Will wait till my scholarship shows on my bank balance.

    Still, thanks for the help.

I bought Shin-Etsu since it was the highest ranked on some website where they tested like, 80 or so compounds, plus it doesn't have a cure time.

The only problem lies in that they only have a small sized syringe so if you mess up, you have limited amount to work with.

Stay away from Arctic Silver 5. Arctic Cooling's MX line is good. I will only ever use OCZ Freeze as long as I can get it: http://www.amazon.com/Ocztfrztc-Extr...3250838&sr=8-1

bad temp reduction, horribly long curing time.

    Long curing time? o.o

The temp reduction is fine. And I didn't know that 200 hours is that long.
I'm currently using MX-2 but only because I found it on a discount and I bought 3. I'm not sure if it's better or not. The temperatures seem the same.

Uhu, time it takes before the TIM reaches it's optimum level. If you use your computer like you normally do (gaming, browsing forums, etc..) it usually takes a few days.
AS5 has a little longer curing time.
