I dont understand the basis of posting an apology of something you knew you were doing wrong to begin with.. thats like cheating on your wife, then going and saying sorry.. you knew what you were doing, you did it anyway.. if you were -really- sorry you wouldn't have done it in the first place and took the moral high ground.
like Blood Legion, here's hoping BL now gets the world first, since they were one of the only guilds to not jump on the cheating bandwagon, and instead chose to take the moral high ground. kudos to them.
Yeah, sorry they got caught...
I really find it Hilarious everyone bashing on Paragon for doing something EVERY OTHER GUILD HAS DONE THIS WEEK. Does noone even pay attention? YOu cant bash on one Top 10 Raiding guild without bashing on them all for doing the same shit. Just cause Paragon posted an apology, everyone seems to be stuck up their asses trying to get blizzard to permaban them when they are at no more fault then the other guilds. Go complain somewhere else about this. They said they were sorry, whats done is done. They get the 8 day ban. Its all up to blizzard what they do, and does not concern any of you casuals or what you think. Just let them all deal with it.
Below is a copy of the blue post that just came out with the paragon apology thread, but I think it readsdifferently then it is probably intended to. To me it reads that if you down a boss but it drops nothing you want, you pass on everything (not rolling), and then you can kill that boss again hoping it drops what you want??
I doubt that is the way blizzard has intended it to be.. Any thoughts?

The raid lockout mechanic has been a mainstay of the World of Warcraft rules since Onyxia and Molten Core, ensuring that no one can obtain loot from a boss more than once per lockout. Due to the nature of the exploit and the clear intent of those who abused it, they've been issued notices and given temporary suspensions from the game. We’re also working to remove all Raid Finder items from those who used the exploit.
If so why should lowbie players be getting week long bans for it then, they play to their own means, not some competitive ladder.
I know wtf an exploit is and the ToS, I already known Blizzard has rights and control over everything I just disagree with it ALL.
I think its a stupid concept to excuse themselves for their mistakes but say "fuck all you guys, for being tempted by raining money (aka loot)"
I think the most moral fair way, is to remover gear all gains from it, then start everybody off fresh like it never happened. When both parties are at fault, not one side should be punished while the other can sit back comfortably. Besides I am pretty sure this bug has been reported, there are millions of players they are just being the big ol Blizzard they are people keep saying it like its some secret that NOBODY else would figure out. A bug like that is quite 'in the face' of players not something you go out of your way to do or grief people by any extreme manner, that requires research, timing, scripts or hacks.
WOW, people humbly accepting a just punishment. I'm both shocked and impressed. Bad Paragon for using an exploit, good Paragon for accepting the consequences.
Paragon members who did this should have gotten perma banned,as well as Paragon should never be allowed to do raid testing for Blizzard anymore.Since that guild is supposedly held in high regard by some people, their punishment should be more severe.
people who bashed blizzard for allowing exploits in wow also must say apology. But i think they wont be come out of thier caves for like 6 months because of shame.
You know ALL I see if QQing about this exploit. Yes they did something wrong so did everyone else in the top guilds(not all). I trust blizzard when they say they will fix this been with this game for so long and I have had issues and stuff but they always fix it. I think everyone should just back off what done is done. They got banned for a bit and they will learn their lesson. They and other guilds will come back on top like always. Even tho on there site they did say sorry I do agree it does not make it right what they did.
An exploit, in video games, is the use of a bug or design flaw by a player to their advantage in a manner not intended by the game's designers.[1] It is often colloquially abbreviated sploit. Exploits have been classified as a form of cheating; however, the precise determination of what is or is not considered an exploit can be controversial. This debate stems from a number of factors but typically involves the argument that the issues are part of the game and require no changes or external programs to take advantage of them.
That is the meaning of exploit. So for all you retards do not do it .....Happy gaming
Infracted; please don't call names.

Well that was a flatout lie. They knew full well they they were only allowed to have 1 piece of loot and chose to instead abuse abuse a bug and now they are paying the price along with quite a few other players. Just because one person does it doesn't mean it's ok for you to do it.This did not provide the raid with any extra loot
At least they owned up to it. *cough* Eredar Twins *Cough*
For all those who didn't understand, read Paragon's statement. THEY know it was wrong. THEY accept responsibility for it. Why others in the community can't understand that cheating is wrong and punishment for cheating is warranted is beyond me. I'm VERY glad to see Paragon owning up to their actions. I dunno if this is due to their sponsors or their own moral code, but either way, I'm glad. The exploit didn't affect me one iota, but knowing that cheating is punished creates a better gaming environment.
