Something like that. Their argument that chi isn't considered a kind of magic that would evade Superman's invulnerability is weak. We've seen Superman suffer against "spirit magic" which Chi effectively is.

Even then..the whole concept of Superman willingly endangering people to beat Goku is silly. But I'm one of those people who misses the point of death matches I guess because I dare consider their personalities as part of the conflict.
