I found Chuck super disappointing and full of plot holes as the story went on. He was always asking questions that he should already know since he's freakin God. I understand part of his charm is how humble he is in comparison to Death who understands fully how badass he is.

But both God and the Darkness just seemed so lame in comparison to Death. The whole time I was just hoping Death would pop back out. They don't explain the cracks in God's omniscience or why the Darkness is clearly stronger then he is. Like why not just spring Michael and heal him? He was such a daddy's boy him seeing God in itself would probably make him bounce back. Or why the hell did Sam and Dean need to "find and bring" the new prophet instead of Chuck just poofing him over.

And the whole happily ever after with God and his sister was so unexpected. God and the Darkness dying simultaneously could finally close the book on why the hell he's always MIA.

Either way I'm going to miss staring at Omara's rack. Glad Rowena's not dead though, I have an unhealthy obsession with older women.

Because that's the extent of his abilities in the supernatural universe. He is not all powerful. I was disappointed too, they made him way less assholish than in the source material. But that's not the interpretation they were going for.

Agreed. But they don't explain it properly. They did a great job explaining Chuck's absence and how conflicted he is about humanity. But they could have explained why he wouldn't just poof things. Such as just making it clear that he's lazy or something.

Agreed was a poor promo. Don't forget it only takes 1 or 2 episodes for Sam and Dean to be back together, maybe 3 if they really push it. I wouldnt worry, something will happen to mum and it will be back to norm chasing after a big bad. In this case likely an institute. Men of letters etc etc

Lucifer is the only "angel" with functioning wings, so no, they cannot snap their fingers and go anywhere they want with Cas. Death is not dead; his physical manifestation is dead. Presumably he could be resummoned into the world if the writers decide to go in that direction. I'll agree with you on the power creep aspect: can't really go anywhere but down after God.

Yeah great first episode. That shot of Jensen getting a hug set up the episode perfectly. And the ep was incredibly well directed throughout. Even got some drug induced visions. Good musical score too.

Really impressed with the quality of production from last season and now this season

Out of curiosity, im i the only one that expect more from Dean battle wise?

Seeing him been beat by that woman made me facepalm myself, i mean, here is the guy that was in hell for god know how many years, battle god like beings and so on, and he still get his ass handed by a woman, it's obvious that woman have battle experience but cmon, i really miss Dean with mark of Cain

I was dissapointed as well by Dean and Cas getting outclassed by 1 woman. I guess they made it like this so that Mary has to save them. The british chick had the unbeatable plot armor. Also, Sam could have easily escaped by just taking the taser-thingy before trying to leave. Other than that, I loved the episode.

Well Deans been trained to fight since he was four so I think it was more those magic brass knuckles than sheer skill that made the difference.

To be fair. The appearance of that actor as Lucifer was only needed because he never took another vessel. Now he has to take another vessel to be on Earth. Which means a different actor.

He should be able to fight off a single woman, who is specialised in preventing! monsters (which are powerless by the wards, and pretty much executed).
