This site lagging a bit for anyone on Chrome

Yeah - the site is loaded with god awful adverts.

if you don't have an add blocker - get one and hopefully it will improves things for you.

I pretty much only use chrome for this site. No real lags that I can tell.

Chrome here. Frontpage often feels bit sluggish. Site overall seems very heavy, far from optimized code. Than again, My adblocker on average blocks 5 to 10 ads per webpage, MMO-C he blocks about 75 on every page. I wouldn't dare visit this site without adblock software.

I noticed that my Chrome tends to become a huge memory hog on this site's homepage or at least this was the behavior for the past few weeks.

It's loading in pieces. It's super slow. If you go into a specific thread, the Reply/Reply with Quote/Multiquote/Report Post buttons, avatars, etc. are also super slow and display weird text until it fully loads.

Btw, I don't think it's my internet.

FYI - Ghostery is the root cause of the problem for me, and not just on MMO-C, the issue occurs on many ad/link heavy sites.

So 'technically' the issue isn't MMO-C's fault - but having so many trackers (37 on this page I'm on now) and adverts (42 on this page I'm on) does sort of force the issue for users a fair bit.

However - as MMO-C is a free site, I'm not going to complain about slowness caused by me being safe...given that even slow as hell it is still worth coming.

The site is pretty much unusable at the moment, with or without ublock. Something about bad gateways timing out the load requests more and more frequently.

Most problems seem to be caused by all those god damn cookies. Got over 250.
After blocking cookies from g00.mmo-champion.com site loaded quite a bit faster. (Helps also on wowhead (g00.wowhead.com))

My add-ons are: Adblock, Adblock Plus, Ghostery, and uBlock Origin.

With zero of the extensions, the site loads perfectly fine.

With any one extension turned on, the page loads a bit, then quickly automatically reloads/refreshes the page (which still shows up as a bit fragments (MMO-C castle logo on top left says the text before loading the image, etc.)). (For AB, ABP, and G the ads will load through on the reload.)

With all four extensions turned on, the page does what happens in the gif: the whole page loads slowly with the HTML buttons saying their text instead of just their icons, and stuff.

I can record the site with only one extension if you want to see.
