Laugh it up while you still can, Europe. You're catching up. Most of the developed world is, actually.

    Phew.

I think I have to go out for an extended walk now. Somewhere in nature. Breathe some fresh air and save my intellect from corroding away.

I'm kind of curious why the UN data is different from what the CDC reports. The CDC says:

More than one-third of U.S. adults (35.7%) are obese.

I can't say for sure, but my first instinct is that one of them probably didn't have the best sample group. And since I love shit-talking the UN, I'm going to side with the CDC!

Given that Mexico imitates American culture this is not a surprise. Coca-cola for breakfast, a Kilo of nachos at the cinema, no interest in sports education at schools...

If the CDC is using BMI, I'm not worried. I think I might be considered obese in BMI. I'm not even close to obese.

Sorry to disappoint, but the United States is more educated than every European country.

    BMI's a perfectly cromulent population-level statistic.

Kick the UK out of Europe, problem solved.

Since the US always wants to be #1, wonder how long it'll take to get there again.

To generalize a population, sure. For an individual basis... not so much (in specific cases).

BMI is not good.. It doesn't take anything in account other than weight and length.

They only looked at 34 countries from what can see and even then it's not a comparison between the U.Sand europe but 34 countries all over the world.
